Did a search, and came up empty handed, so my turn to start this week Sorry for picture quality. A couple of glue bombs to start, only just recieved them While I was out to lunch, this couple rolled in and the bowser boy took these pics Marshie FC59 did a good job on the last two (sorry about pic quality) Cheers Rod
Those ute's are going to be very cool! Do you know who did the bodies originally? I'm pretty sure you guys have seen these and are sick of them but I didn't have anything to post and want to leave without adding something. Cheers all, Doc.
I love those Aussie Ute's here a bit more from my '57 Ford gasser, which looks a bit like The Morticitan
Big bump and also some of the models I have. The Chevy Nova is built by Spoggie here on The Hamb. The prostreet Ferrari has a blown small block Chev in it and a quick change rear end, its also built by Spoggie that I have restored back from the dead. And the rest is just other cool model junk.
Is that the 'Tyrone Malone Super Boss'? If so that is a great repurposing of it! I also like the A Roadster, even know this is a 32 we had somewhat similar concepts huh! I would say great minds think alike but I know myself too well and know you couldn't call my mind great at all! Mediocre is a stretch! Doc .
T.M Sounds familiar Doc. Used to dig those drag trucks. That sano 12 second black Kenworth back in the day. Your comp coupe & roadster blows mediocre notions away. Fat141, that's some cool junk. Sombrero looks OK on the '56. The Ferrari looks OK that way 30nerd. I did it as a road racer with Potvin 283, GTO chassis & scratched body w/ BMW rear panels. The Nova won a Top 5 award at the S.A.R.&C.C. Show in '99. I guess everyone's hip to the Revell 'vette kit #85-4992. Grab one- it's the Accurate Miniatures kit re- boxed by Revell. I think it's your last chance to get one in- store. '66 Chargers aren't HAMB stuff. But as a 'on the cusp' street machine, I'll take it over a Rivi or 'bird. This is a die cast. I stuck a nice 383 in it outta the Revell Dart Swinger. And just for O/T fun, A Boeing (Stearman) KADETT. Swap meet kit, $10.00 from John @ Model world. 70's issue in the plastic bag. with nice cardboard tag art & vintage price tag. One of the wheel struts was missing, but luckily I was able to use the sprue it came from as it matched the shape. A little carve, a little fill at rear- voila! not perfect, but kit saved. Ripper old plane. Thanks 30Ford nerd for the vintage tree sprue. Who recognises it?
These are 1/87 scale models of some 'American Graffiti' cars. Also another deuce built from the same kit as the yellow one.
Hey Rod , how bout a few pictures of the Texaco diorama ? Those "Ute's are some strange looking characters , well here in the States they are . Fine work too ! scrubba
Ok, please don't take this the wrong way Ognib, but why are you scratch building something that is already widely available? Cheers, Doc.
Ahhh, obvious now that I think about it, making the bucks!! Well hell yeah I am going to follow this build, huge respect for you guys that can work metal like that! Cheers, Doc.
I'm doing a daily photo journal of the project here, if you're interested. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74365 There's something about the use of metals that, to my eye, adds a distinct realism to modeling that is extremely rare in other materials, like the frame on your dragster posted on page 1 of this thread. There's several guys on that site who are cutting their engines & drivelines out of aluminum, on mills & lathes...if you didn't know it was a model, you could easily think it was 1:1.
The Model T with the Flathead inspired me to share this one . It's a resin conversion I did to utilize some very early speed equipment ....... scrubba
Thanks Jim ! The Ala kart is the newer one by AMT , and the El Camino is by SMP , released 53 yrs. ago, and never rereleased again. I got it at a swap meet a few years back and rebuilt it . Great looking stuff again today guys ! Lots of talent on here....
