Aluminum body for a Corvette

Here are a few pics that BOO sent me in the mail of his project mentioned a page or so back.

Some of his comments:

Wood buck - I made, never again I hope. Used framing square, Ace Hardware yard stick and eyeball.

Chassis - My boy sitting in the chassis dreaming. 4.6 Ford engine, 5 speed Mustang trans, '89 T-bird IRS, all inboard shocks. Mant things I would change if I did again.

Bare body - As we were putting it on the chassis and body frame work.

Body in white - As it is today. Needs inner wheel splash panels upholstery, seats, paint and misc. Maybe someday.

Boo and I had a long chat about this car. Very nice work...very unassuming and humble builder.

With the nose buck over to the side and the new tilt frame in place i'm getting all the elevations back and sorting out some details before making the nose skin, Ray

 

First time posting on this thread and.... wow. What an amazing build. Great work and VERY inspirational.

 

Starting to lay out the center bonnet panels. Ran them through the slip roller for just enough shape to get them to lay down. Now the hard part...........Ray

 

Ray, You are sure coming along great with this one. I can remember your first one but now - - - all I can say is "WOw !". Keep on a a going . . . .

Amazing difference in proportion from the 'Vette to now. So much more athletic and nimble looking, not to mention all the tin work! Wow!

I love the shape your car is taking, but the hood scoop seems like overkill in height and size. Is that the final shape you intend, or are you planning to refine it further?

 

It really humbles a person when they think that they can build things, then a thread comes along like this. You have amazing skills and talent.
