Im new to the H.A.M.B hope I post all this right....Cant wait for the show May 25th! Gene Cromer asked Quick Chick Designs to design a shirt for him and here are the designs we worked together on. Hopefully have both the one color shirt design and color design at Greer the day of the show!! Feel free to let me know sizes and/or questions about design work at [email protected]
So glad to be a part of this process and watch the Moonlighters return to Greer Dragway. You will never meet a more sweet family than Gene and his family. Let me know what you guys think!

O-K, now I'm a little confused. Are ther two different companys making shirts? Do both have Gene's blessing?

Yes they both have Gene's blessing. The reason there are different ones is Gene couldn't make up his mind and I can see where that would be hard. I know that Cassandra made several trips to Genes while doing the drawing as I'm sure Freddy did also. Now ya'll will have to make up your mind just like Gene did LOL.

No worries I'll just have to get 2 of each now and that will solve that problem. :D

Why does the one shirt say "1973-2013" , when I see pictures from 1968 of the Moonlighter?

The last time Gene ran the Moonlighter was in 1973 and it is being resurrected in 2013.

Glad to see you finally joined the HAMB Cassandra. Be sure to do an introduction in the "introduce yourself" section. Your work will fit right in here on the Friday art shows.
The shirts look great!! I know I've already placed my order with you but I just wanted to say that the black shirt with the Moonlighter being lit by the moonlight is my favorite! Wonderful job on the design. I know Gene will wear these with pride!

I'm with you HRP. I definitely like the large graphic on the back of the shirt.

Gene, I'm Dave Facey from Florida and I've been watching the fantastic restoration of the Moonlighter. It looks awesome and I know you can't wait for the unveiling in May. I hope I get to see the car in Bowling Green in June.

I'm the caretaker of a 33 Willys A/G car out of north Fl. called "Little Road Runner". It was last raced at the Springnats in Bristol in 1971 and was raced around the southeast. I was wondering if you remembered the car? Or have any information about it? Thanks.

    Dave

    Here's a pic.

I asked Gene today about the valves. He said the valves are stock size for 427 tunnel port.

I had a very good afternoon watching Gene and Melvin installing the pistons. The heads are ready to go on. It's beginning to look like an engine. I can't wait to hear the Moonlighter fire up again!

Did the Moonlighter ever run a tunnel port? There was one that ran in an AFX type Fairlane at our local strip back in the day. I recall it having a distinct growling type exhaust note that the other big block fords didn't have.

Gene ran a tunnel port also. At the time Hilborn didn't make a fuel injection intake for it so Gene had to make his own, he still has it.

I can't say for sure, but from parts lying around Gene's shop, I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. He has tunnel port heads, headers, and a "custom" intake with hilborn injectors. He took a 2x4 tunnel port intake and machined it to accept the hilborn injectors. All of these parts are used and the headers look like they were made for the willys not the mustang.
