My Dad opened a Shell Service Station in 1960 and this was included with the inventory of the previous owner. We never found out what it was, or what it did, so it sat in the back of the station, unused and forgotten. As I was going through Dad's storage, I came across it again... and still I don't know what it could possibly be or do. It has what looks like an air-fitting with a thick canvas bag attached to it, (air-driven vacuum cleaner?) Any ideas would be welcome! Nobey
Dang!! I'm a day late and a dollar short again. Many years ago I use to have a little spark plug cleaner kind of like that. A bit newer but the same idea.
it's a vacuum used for cleaning broken glass out of the bottom of the doors, between seats and other hard to reach places. cool old tool.
Thank you guys for all your help. Now I can lie in bed tonight and wonder about something else.....Nobey
We have a few like that at where I work. Had a "new" guy that had just started working for us ask how we got the compressor to run backwards. We were all rollin.
It's not auto related at all.......I pick up golf balls with one in my back yard... except mine is blue....its called a golf ball shag bag
As previously stated, it's an air-vac, works off of shop air. Used and made my own as an A&P mechanic for many years.
