Features 1940 and 1939 Deluxe Fords.......Lets see em!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by junkmanjr, Jan 31, 2009.

  1. I have been looking for a 40 coupe for a while. The ones I find are either too expensive or basket cases. Does anyone out there know of one for sale on the east coast. Send me a PM

here's a few updates after cleaning and refreshing the driveline. still a blast to drive. been to a couple of car shows and lots of people still can't believe the paint and interior are that old. cleaned up pretty good. more updates as they happen, still need to finish up reinstalling a/c and fix hole in dash that was enlarged for old 8 track stereo.

Great job of getting it back on the street. Like it all except I don't believe I could live with the rear wheels. Couldn't live with them on my 40 in 76, nor could I now. On the other hand many liked em that way then. But I like what you have done. Neat 40 and story.

1940 Standard coupe that I sold ... to a fellow HAMBER back in 2004.
Just a stock old coupe with a 283 ( Wilcap adapter ) and a dropped axle. Drove it everywhere :)

  10. That's the plan for my Tudor, I've got a line on a 283, adapt to stock drivetrain, put miles on it.

  12. 'Bout time someone brought this thread back up!

  13. Not sure if you want to see any pickups, but here's mine.

I love this driver, and looking for a coupe to go with it.

been looking at 40's at car shows to see what others are runnning. going to have to change the wheels when I put disc on front. the fronts are 14's and the rear 15's. remember back in the 70's big and littles was the thing. slowly getting there with updates. still looks good being built in the mid 70's.

I didn't catch the name or locale of this one, but it knocked my socks off, at the Stray Kat 500.
