You'll never believe it (I still can't) but I went to the local scrap yard and it was in the "pile" and I paid the core charge of twenty bucks for it.

I never dreamed it would be one of the good ones but it still had the tag with the magical "169" number on it! (Mustang/Capri V-8 World Class with the .68:1 OD ratio)

It needs a rebuild but that's a couple hundred bucks tops for the kit. I guess the junkyard Gods were looking down on me that day. :)

One more thing that might be helpful, here's a listing of the W/C T5's. Print it out and keep it in the truck with you and if you happen upon one and it's got the tag you can know what you're looking at/for.

These are just the Ford versions, but they are generally considered stronger than the GM units.

Here's a link to another chart that shows all of them:

You've got me motivated to get mine together!

I'm usually not one of those lucky people, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then!

My best friend on the other hand... that sucker is the luckiest guy I have ever seen. Things just fall into his lap all the time!

Still collecting parts! I'm still on the fence about selling it.... It keeps me up at night. With the baby due any day, it'll be tough, but I think I want to stick it out and see how it goes!
