always liked that look on the firewall . are those made up by you or purchased ...? was looking into that look myself ..
Kevin..I must say..they are some of the nicest welds I've seen..the fabricating not to shabby either..great work..I have two 55 Chevy Gassers myself..follow your dreams.!!
After many months of not doing much to the 55 to speak of, it finally made its maiden voyage a couple days ago - it's ALIVE! I was having an ass kicking problem with the temporary engine but now it's ironed out. Kiwi Kev and another friend came over the other day and we thrashed on it to the point where it was able to run (and stop) under its own power. That was an exciting moment since this car hadn't run in probably 10 years or so. Took a spin up and down the street and feels pretty good - now to work out the many bugs and make it road worthy. At least now there's light at the end of the tunnel...
Here're a few shots of the dash - nothing to speak of at the moment as it's still apart but you can get an idea. It'll be all old school - like how it was back in the 60's. This is the 55 I wanted to have in the 60's but couldn't due to the strict laws in Hawaii. Now 50 years later, I have it! Tach will be mounted overhead instead of on the dash.
A few current pics. Vic is taking it to Eagle field for a little try out. No blower motor yet. Back is getting raised a little.
First time I have seen this thread. Cool Car! But I would like a shot at it before you put some big ass motor in it!
Whose the mnfctr. of that tach??? Looks "vintage" but I suspect reman?? Thanks & car looks kick ass. Nicely done. This is what I'm trying to finish up now ... not a gasser but a susper stocker:
