I find it amazing that the three choices are almost a even draw.

I built the coupe first with the red rims ... to match my roadster.

But I became tired of the red ... because my roadster has had red rims for 25 years. So I went to the Sandstone Beige ( new rims , tires ect ) and tried them. I liked them but ... put them on my 49 Mercury M-47 that I sold.

So I put the red rims back on ... was was not satisfied with it. So I went with the Halibrands ... :)

I really like 5 spoke Americans ... but I have had those on a few O/T vehicles and have grown somewhat tired of them on my cars.

THANKS for voting and expressing your opinions

Depends on the car, I voted for red for personal reasons. I'm surprised that the vote is so close.

If you had included Torque Thrusts as a choice that would have done it hands down for me. Not the full polished but the dark spokes and polished outer. There is hardly a car on the planet that doesn't look good with Halibrands so that would be my second choice. The painted steelies with a trim ring and small cap (regardless of color) has been done to death with the street rod crowd and has kind of lost favor with me.

Had a guy running around here for a few years that ran two colors. One set on one side and than another on the other side. So depending on which side you looked at. One side was custom and other was traditional. It was kinda cool. It really comes down to what you like and not what the masses are doing..

How about 'none of the above' and going with a set of Burgundy or maroon painted Kelseys? IMO they give a real classy timeless hot rod look and work really well on a black car....

Or you could paint your steelies like Hamber Ilari did in an oxblood/maroon color. This may be VW Bordeaux red from the 1950s....

I think the red wheels looks best on your black 3 w. Also match the interior :)

The color on the post above would be top notch .

  14. Looks like sandstone beige is the new red (at least for the moment anyway). Do you have paint codes for the red and beige. Might help a brother out if they run across this in a search.

The Halibrands really do compliment that car very well.

Can I pick "none of the above"? Of the options presented, I went with red, but Olds Fiestas would be the ticket...

They all look pretty good but the stance looks best with the red wheels. Did you have a larger tire on the back with those wheels?

Halibrands, but no matter which ones you use it needs to be lowered!

Sorry ... the rims were powder coated ... not painted.
The red matches the rims on the roadster and they are 90 Chevrolet pickup torch red. :)

Of the options, I like the Halibrands. However, some chrome reverses on the rear would really look tits. MMMMMMM...chrome reverse.
