Event Coverage Hosting my first car show: Announcing the Lone Star Deluxe April 27th in Texas City

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Sam Navarro, Feb 7, 2013.

  1. Unclee is building a really cool trophy for the "Best of Show" winner. Maybe it should be a surprise?

I dont think a surprise is the way to go buddy, the whole deal behind the trophy is to show people how badass it is & hope that it makes people want to compete for it. I plan on posting pics of the plaques & trophy as soon as I get them (Hopefully next week)

I went down to the treet where the show is taking place & snapped a couple pics...... The day of the show this entire street will be blocked out for the show cars & the grassy area will be where the food, craft & beer vendors are located. Also we are going to have FREE moonwalks, rockwall & mechanical bull rides for the kids so bring down the whole family for a great afternoon!

I agree that it is unfortunate but like I said that was the only weekend the City would grant me........ Hopefully you can make either of them, I have been to the nationals & they are great but I prefer trad hotrods & kustoms.

I'd love to provide an event that showed true Hot Rods & Kustoms, I know that we have a ton in our area.

The gates (registration) open at 9am, the show is over at 6pm.

To enter a vehicle it is $20 & it comes with a poster, sticker & two wristbands to enter the "Showboat Theater" where all of the bands/pinup contest/kids contest & trophies will be located.

If you dont enter a car the outdoor portion of the show is free to enjoy the vehicles, vendors & moonwalks. The indoor portion in $10 per wristband for an all day pass.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like more information.

    Cheers,
    SN

Thank you buddy! As some of you know my band plays for many of the local car clubs & we dig it! I am doing this show not to promote anything else but my town & the hobby of hot rodding...... I truly hope to see you all there....
