Can someone ID this dash badge?

This badge has been in my collection for 30+ years-- I pulled it off of a rusty hulk dumped in the bottom of a ravine deep in the Oregon coast range forest. As I recall, the car was a total shell-- but this badge was on the dashboard, and I kept it as a souvenir.

I am not interested in selling it, but the car geek in me really wants to know what this fits!

    Any help is greatly appreciated,

I forgot to add that it is stainless steel, pressed over a mild steel backing (with two screws).

The badge is 8 3/4" long.

  4. My memory says I've seen that on the dash of a 37-38 chevy. We'll see how accurate my memory is. [not much faith in it]

Not on my '37 Chevy stocker. I've got a lot of '37-'38 Chevy literature and I've never seen that emblem

If it helps narrow it down, I seem to recall it was a 30s era car...

Thanks for the guesses and looks so far!

I remember seeing one on ebay last month, they didn't say what it was either.

    I have another clue!!

Last night I remembered that I had taken a photograph of the car-- I found the transparency (ie. medium format slide) and took a photo of it tonight:

Now it should be easy to track down...

So what does the H.A.M.B. guess? :)
