My Kansas neighbor Jay Sweet (nosurf) was there in a booth shared with Mike Nicholas (barn find t) who were promoting their respective events and merchandise. Well known hot rod trucker Ben D and his son are also shown in this photo.

Kansas beauty Heather Garst stopped by along with her husband PJ to visit at Camp PF and like me it was their first time at this fun event and plan to come back.

I went looking for my idol BobK and found him near his car enjoying the warm Texas weather.

  6. Hey Paul, as I said yesterday it is always fun to read your adventures. Nothing better than fried pies unless it is one served with a smile. Take care.
    Later,
    Dick

How cool is it to walk outside the swap meet building and see Junior Brown performing? There was alot of cool bands with a big variety the whole time during the show and it was very cool.

I was sitting in my swap meet space when I took this photo.
I wasn't sure if this gal was happy to see me or if that was a coat hanger in her pocket?

I'd have to say the highlight of my trip was meeting my new friend Chris from Perth Australia and his wife Ann who were fun, fun, fun. Chris is a great story teller and they hung out with us for two days.

It was such a great time.
On the way home while still in Texas Ron and I stopped at a Rudy's BBQ and loved the place. The brisket was moist and excellent. We had banana pudding too. You can see Ron in the last photo wearing his Big Creek Restoration (BCR) t shirt.

I also want to thank Dan Greenburg for hauling us around downtown Austin in his rental car and serving as our official tour guide. Ron and I had a lot better time because of Dan...

Thanks for another great road trip story. For some reason I'm hungry and need to run to the store now.

Paul, your writing is always worth reading. I think you have a second calling.
We had the honor of the "Paul and Ron Traveling Road Show" stopping by for a visit to our humble abode. Back thing id I had fresh Moon Pies in the shop fridge and did not fix the buds up. Bad me, lol.
And you guys know we have room for ya next year if ya want to stay over in the middle.

  24. I always enjoy your threads,
    Nice meeting you.
