I plan on making the 5 mile trip from southern Dubuque to the west side of town. Bringing my recently purchased (from a GREAT H.A.M.B.er) 1960 Ranchero custom.Been at it the last 3 years. Each year it is bigger and better!

Just want to thank everyone that has supported the show - the pre registrations help pay for the insurance and last minute advertising.....
we are at 400 pre registered entries!!!
This is amazing - the pace of pre reg is pretty crazy -
I suspect it will slack off - but we are going to definitely beat last years count!
Thanks again and if you want to save $5
purchase your weekend wristband before April 21.
just go to the site and click on Register - details are there

Yea, but I'm bringing my heap anyway! :D

Got the car registered, got the motel room, got the weekend pass for my wife, got the spot reserved for the dog at the kennel, think I'm almost ready. If it ever quits raining maybe I will finish up a few loose ends on the car, but its coming either way. Gene

  26. The TorqueFest has lost it's small town charm by going to Dubuque...

Sorry to see you feel that way. You do realize that the show is not in town and on the west edge right? More hotels, more food choices, great hot rods, great people, and a great cause. I don't care if it was in the Wal-mart parking lot, I will be there, and I hate Wal-mart. I live in small town Iowa(pop. 2300), I grew up in small town Illinois(graduated in a class of 39), and I sure as hell don't consider Dubuque big by any means. Yes it is larger than Maquoketa by a bunch, but it is way smaller than Austin, TX. Is the Revolution or the Lone Star Roundup any less of a show because it is a town of 820,000?
Sorry for the rant, don't mean to piss in anybody's Wheaties just an observation. Hope to see everyone there come May 3,4.

    x2^

TorqueFest and Dubuque will mutually benefit that weekend. I again want to thank John for moving the show to "Iowa's oldest city."

I may not be the most "charming" but I will gladly welcome each and every hot-rodder that comes to support this show and cause. See you in Dubuque!!

ummmm.....yeah.....were you there last year on Saturday?
We ran out of camping, motorcycle spectator parking, car spectator parking, and swap meet space.........
Not sure you understand the concept of the show.
The whole point it to raise money to help kids with heart conditions.
Do we want this show to grow?
    Yes.
By growing the show, we help more families.
And just so you know - the first family we are helping is here on the HAMB.
So if you are interested in small town feel - come over to Rust Revival -I will be there.
And its funny that you mention the small town vibe.....
all the people that come from Milwaukee, St Louis, Chicago, Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis have told us they like Dubuque. How do they already know about Dubuque? Because hundreds of people already had to stay in Dubuque because there are no hotel rooms in Maquoketa.
If you are interested in small town feel - come over to Rust Revival -I will be there. Or Symco Shakedown, or the Road Block, or The Panty Raid, or Relix Riot....the list can go on and on.
Another complaint I have heard is that people had to go to Wal Mart to eat at night in Maquoketa. Even the McDonalds shuts down early. This will be a non issue in Dubuque....bars downtown will be open WAY after we shut down at Torque Fest.
Overall the move to Dubuque is going to be a positive.
If you don't come to the show, then you will never know the difference between the 2 locations.
    Hope to seeya there.
