You have an awesome build plan and a great collection of parts to do it. I was under the impression that Scandinavian '36 3w's were always made from squashed fordor sedans. Don't you think you're cheating somewhat by starting with an actual 3w?:D:D

Carry on. And please continue to update your build.

Thanks. Have your Mercury arrived yet?

Thanks tinmann. Guess there´s not any fordors left anymoore, so I have to manage with the real deal.;)

  12. Didn´t get much done today. This day was a day when everything went against me.But with some swearing and bad temper I did get something done.Repaird the bushingholes in the wishbones. They were pretty worn out all four of them. I cut out the damaged part and placed a roundbar out of brass in the hole and then welded the gap up with the MIG.
Got this idea from FoMocokids buildthread and it worked out really well. Thanks Kellan.
Then I mocked up front and rear axels with wishbones mounted so I can start planning the brackets for wishbones attaching to frame. Hope tomorrow will be easier.

Thanks Finnrodder and chevtrev. It´s not for me to take credit for that brass bar trick, but yes it´s really neat and simpel.

  19. Okay, so its time for a little update. Been working on the rear wishbones today.Since I gona run an open drive shaft i decided to reinforce the wishbones in the back where they are welded to the forged pieces. I know a lot of you claimes that´s not necessary but I know of a few that has broke in that area, even though they where not properly set up they still broke.
I cut a slot both upside and downside of the bone and slide an 3/16" plate thru the slot and then tucked it backwards til it bottomed at the first axel mount. At the front I turned a sleeve on the lathe and welded it to the bone. Gonna insert a rubber bushing from Volvo 240 in that sleeve wich allows for a good amaount of movement in all directions.Have made a new crossmember to insert in the x-member for the wishbones to attache but it´s not all done, will do the rest tomorrow

  20. Finnished the crossmember for the front mount of the wishbones today. Have it installed and testfitting after welding and it looked okay, axel was still in right possision. Don´t mind the different size on the bolts in the bushings, they´r only for mock up.Run out of 9/16" so I had to take one 1/2" instead.

Looking good I need to get back out in the shop surgerys & getting old sucks.

  25. Started with the front wishbone today. I´d split it and gonna attache the ends to the x-member. Made a fixture to mimic the spring and center of the car so I could bend the springmounts and bring out the rear end of the bones. Welded on same sort of ends and using same bushings as for the rear. Gonna make some brackets that will be bolted to the x-member .Made the outer one and testfitted but will round of the top a little more. For the inside I gonna make a bracket that will bolt to the plate I made for transmission mount.
