  1. Thanks!

    Thanks Mopar Jack!

I'am liking the Blue steelies also!:D
The body will be classic hot rod black!

  2. Been busy this last week!:D

Installed motor & transmission. Had to make a new transmission mount for the 700 R4. Installed radiator and grill shell and one piece hood. Hood will be held down with leather straps. Electric fuel pump & filters & fuel lines are installed. Main power to starter cable also installed and night switch. Also installed a stud for ground off main cable.

Still have a few things to do, then i will take the hood, grill shell & radiator off the roadster. Then pull the motor & tranny and it's ready for paint. Will mask off the frame.
The bottom of the body has already been Rock Guarded.

WOW...good on you. Nice build quality all the way around!

  9. Started making my mock ups for the leather straps which will hold down the hood!

Different, and it works for me!:D

Thanks, it's not an over the top build, but what I would call an honest build. A car is really just the sum of it's parts!;)

  10. Wow! I totally missed this till now! Very cool.

  11. Thanks, it's been a fun build! :D

  12. Will be using leather straps to hold down the 1 piece hood. Used a cutoff wheel to make slots in the bottom of the hood flange, so the leather can be fed through. Started mocking up using the SoCal hardware. Masking tape was used to give approximate lengths. Will post more pictures as i make progress.

Its too late now that you have cut the slots in the hood.

I'm doing the same for my RPU when I get there, the difference is that rather than cutting slots I will use another set of the brackets like you have on the bottom on the underside of the hoods lip.

I think it will be cleaner in appearance and function.

I got mine from Steve at Limeworks and will have to look, I believe there are some instructions in the box. And yes when I ordered I did order the extra loops for the hood end.

I think it was you who has retractable door stop straps in your T sedan.

Ever since I saw that I have been scouring the self serve wrecking yards searching for them, and it has been like looking for the needle in the haystack

No luck at all. :D Oh well ,maybe the next time I go :)

  18. Here are the retractable straps, your talking about. Your not the 1st to ask what they are from? The upholsterer found them in a wrecking yard, but would'nt give any details? Anyways they work great!

Yes, I surely wish I knew which vehicles to watch out for. :) We should get that upholsterer in a private room and get it out of him :D

Ve half vays of making you speak :D

If I find them it will just be a matter of stumbling across them.

  22. No Promises, but i'am gonna try!

  23. Here are the leather straps on the roadster. Will now take them apart and dye them black. Will use a clear acrylic sealer to protect them also.
