The Shearer #77 Ford


I've always enjoyed the late Kevin Shearer's racing in
his #77 Ford, so seeing son Michael continuing the tradition with such speed & verve last Monday at Collingrove Hillclimb's Easter meet was a treat. Thanks to Peter Hall for letting me haul my easel & gear to the top of the climb and paint this.
I did thumbnails of the car in the pits first, then worked off the car as it passed during each heat. 4 hours total painting time.

Well, this week, a Citroën fire truck with "Aérodrome de Lanas" writen on its side. Why ?

Lanas airport was the place of the rebirth of french drag racing. But, last year it was the last time. A new stupid law killed it. So, in memory of Lanas strip, I've drawn this Citroën HY.

the first page of todays art show is amazing . i do mean everyone ! wow totally blown away

i was commissioned to do one of the universal horror movie monsters using lime green and magenta so th first one that came to my mind was the creature from the black lagoon .

 

This is the best opening of the FAS in awhile. Posting from Lone Star Round Up this morning. Man what a cool show.
