Absolutly perfect, when my kids were small we'd load them in a big truck and run cross country for truck shows in N Y or Valley Forge and Kansas, those trips you don't forget.

Man Texas truckers drive fast...reminds me of Baja where you are going over the speed limit and they still catch you! 80mph speed limit means 85 I guess

  6. Fantastic!! Have a great time. Your boy looks to be having the time of his life.

See, you don't have to choose between livin' the life and family life. It's all just a matter of attitude. Nice wagon too!

I'm sooo jealous. My daughter would go nuts on a drive that long. Looks like a lot of fun.

I'm jealous for a couple reasons. A family road trip. A 59 Chevy wagon. Austin.

Yeah, they haul ass out in west Texas. Great fun but be careful!

You have a beautiful family. Hope you have a great time.

Awesome...I can't wait till my son gets a little bigger and we can take some trips together. My wife isn't down for stuff like that in the kind of car my Plymouth will be so I guess I'm gonna have to find a cool wagon or Suburban!

  18. Thanks for sharing! You are creating great family memories! I love road trips with my kids as well. The first time I loaded my two boys up in my 52 Chevy and headed to Austin, they were 2 and it was a blast.

When I was your kids age my family took our chevy wagon from Santa Maria to North Dakota to visit our grand parents almost every year for ten years, until the late sixties, some times pulling the old shasta trailer! Good times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Memories that will last a life time! In 2001, I drove the Hot Rod Power Tour with my then 9 year old son. We drove from New Jersey to San Bernadino and back in my old 55 Chevy. He is 21 now, and still talks about that road trip as if it happened yesterday! Enjoy the road family style!
