Did the bottom and the inside of the drivers door today, Just have to make a couple patches for the outside and weld up the trim holes then I can re hang the doors and fit the rockers.

after I made a replacement bottom.

Stripped the paint and epoxied it.

Now that the door was done I could rehang it and do the rocker. I had to massage the 1/4 panel to match the contour of the door.( I still have to finish it but I will once I do the bodywork.)

    gaps all set and nice.

Came home for Easter and decided to do a a little work. I wanted to get the other rocker done but did not have enough time. So I expoxied the trunk that I stripped/shaved and put a coule hours in getting the gaps nice and it fitting properly. Im pretty happy with the results.

It may have looked it but the roof was beat up along with the passenger side all dented in. It also had a fair amount of rust for a barn car. However It did provide me a number of very good parts. After Im done getting what I need off it I will post up a FS thread for the remaining parts. solid doors, perfect trim, stuff like that.

  16. Wow ...great progress!
Since your leaning towards no 5, I'd say really cool set up, and apart from that I'd go for no 2. :)

pulled the parts car body off the chassis so I can start to build it. I was gonna start stripping some of the crap off of it but it was just too damn hot out. Motor should be here next week at sometime. I will prob be ordering the front susp/ bags in the next week or two. Motor should be here next week at sometime.

it sure has been a learning curve. I have learned A TON since I started it in 2011.

    got more parts today.

no pictures but I also got 11" disc brakes, and motormounts for the 5.3, as much as id like to work on it, Im going to Ireland for the next month, but cant wait to dive into it when I get back and get the chassis done.
picked this up a week or two ago, its a 04 5.3 with exactly 60,000 miles on it. I will clean it up and most likely do a small cam, not so much for sound but more for the power increase.

    been pretty busy this week.

picked up a camaro 10 bolt with a 3:73 posi.

stripped the leaf spring brackets off it.

also stripped the chassis to get ready for sandblasting.

then came the fun part, sandblasting on a summer day.

I ordered the frame notch, bag brackets, and 4 link kit. So once those come in Ill be starting to do the chassis work and start fitting the new susp, as well as the body.

rolled the car outside to rearrange the back room and blow the car off. Gonna do a couple last minute things to the car on saturday, and get started on the chassis hopefully next week.

Did some work on the door/quarter fitment, as well as put the pass side rocker on. Its a big milestone because now the body of the car is rust free and the rust repair is complete.

and sealed the other rocker with epoxy as well.

put the body together one last time to fit the gaps, took some convincing with a 5lb sledge a block of wood and a slide hammer but I'm happy with the result. The drivers side hinges need to be replaced, so ill grab the ones off the parts car which are perfect.
