So I am sitting at the hospital with my newborn baby girl and was going through some of my pictures of my old cars and started wondering what the hell was I thinking getting rid of these cars! Anyone else have this problem??

    The list:
    1964 Falcon Squire Wagon
    1961 F100 unibody shortbed
    1963 Thunderbird
    1996 Harley Heritage Softail

There is more but I don't have pictures of them all. All I own now is a 1958 Edsel Pacer and a 1960 F350 Crewcab. Ugh

  2. Did you have them all at once ?
Or did selling one give you a chance to have another ?

Friend of mine has owned over 250 cars in 67 years.
37 of them have been the mythical ones we dream about , that legends are made of.

I have sold them over the years to either buy other cars and to put a down payment on a house. I really wish I could have them all but I don't have enought room in the drive-way.

I am an automotive speed dater... there are just too many. However, not being rich, selling one enabled me to experience the next one. I've had over 300 cars and I've enjoyed every single one of them.

I wish I knew how this thing worked.

  17. There are a bunch I wish I had back but just a couple that I really never should have sold in the first place. I got my 32 coupe back but sure wish I had never sold my 59 Vette or my 67 427 tunnelport Fairlane. Either one would be worth more than my house now.

Maybe a guest pops up when you post from a wi-fi hotspot.

I have TWO on my list (albeit not hamb-friendly)

    1) 1968 Dodge Charger R/T big block car.
Found it on total accident while driving to work and the guy had just rolled it onto the front lawn and put a sign in the window because he just lost his job. Red/red, everything 100% original, only needed paint. Paid $900 for it on the spot. Took it home, stuffed it into storage.
    Years go by......
There is a very long, personal story about why one day I got a bug up my butt and decided to sell it, and like a total complete idiot I took $2000 cash for it, and it was worth probably $15K (which I didn't know at the time, I'd been out of the hobby for about 10 years and didn't know what mopars were doing price-wise).
    Never forgive myself for that.

    2) I get a call one day from a guy who knows a guy who got in some financial problems. Needs cash quick. Got a 1965 Mustang couple that he restored all original, all the right colors, and spent $20K in REAL money with receipts on the resto. Says I can have it for $5600 if I pick it up THAT DAY with CASH.
    Time goes by......
Again, like an idiot, I decide I want $$$ for something else stupid like medical bills or some crap, and I sell it......for $8500.
I KNEW KNEW KNEW that I should have just put it in the garage, covered it up and forgot about it for the lousy $5600 that I had in it.
    Stupid stupid stupid.

    But I have learned.
    Never again.
The car my wife has right now, never ever selling. Got a super deal on it, we love the car, it's useful, it stays. Period.

  20. I couldn't know where to begin....However, this is my first car ever. High School Graduation in the Summer of 1964. Minty '55 Monterey with the Original Clear Plastic Seat Covers still on it. Gone forever.....Sad. Centurion9

Not me, but my sister had a real nice (non-HAMB) car that I wanted badly. I told her this many times. I even made her promise not to sell it when I went overseas in the military.
She sold it. $3500 bucks in 1987 because it got bad gas mileage.

Well I hope so because some people don't take me serious as a guest. Time will tell...... And that Ford in the background is a 59.

No, the one parked in front of his car is probably a 60 starliner.
The car in the background in the driveway is a 59.

I may have one regret..a 1967 Lotus Elan roadster is the only one I want back. I have owned an average of 2.7 cars a year since 1971...not counting motorcycles. My motto is so many cars so little time...and the time is getting shorter.
My sons at first did not like it when I sold a car they liked..it has happened so often they are now accustomed to it. Some of the cars paid bills too...the kind of bills we get when raising a family.
I have the two cars I will keep. My unfinished 1946 chevy pu street rod project and my 1959 bugeye vintage racecar.

Umm, Starliner as in Ford? The car at the curb in front of the '55 is a '59 Pontiac.

If i sold it , it was leaving to pay for another memory . Variety is the spice of life and i like being able to say " yeah , i had one" sure i wish the wallet allowed for me to say " yeah i HAVE ONE" but as is im sure with most folks here , thats not the case.

The ONE that i shouldnt sell is sitting in my garage, And i hope nothing ever comes up where i am forced to ,but to be honest , i dont see this car leaving my possesion until they close the lid. Then my boys will have it.

  30. Anybody who knows me has heard me whine about the '68 Impala I let my son talk me into getting rid of! NEVER should have listened to him! One of the nicest cars I ever owned!
