***Edit...Click photo to view*** In case you were wondering what a set of Porters sounded like on a Y.....here you go;)

    '57 F100, stock 272, John Mummert ramhorn manifolds, 2" i.d. pipe w/ no crossover.

Ignore the smoke...that 94 is on its 1,203'rd rebuild, and it's giving me some tuning issues.

    Enjoy!

They sound sweet! I've had a set for over a year now waiting to go on my 66 f100. It's a 390 but I got some ceramic coated long tubes and didn't want to do the exhaust twice. Haven't had a chance to do the headers so no porters yet :(

Any body heard them on an fe I'm dying to get rid of my old glass packs that end under the cab, sounds like poop.

  5. I hadn't heard em on a Y-Block before I did mine, so I was kinda in the same boat. Now I'm totally sold. I can only imagine an FE will sound badass with a pair ;)

That thing sounds gooood. The best sounding 6 I've heard in a long time.

Thanks man, I agree. Sounds great going down the road too.

Sounds great. I have droan masters on my 292 and hate them. I have my exhaust dumped before the axle anybody ever use porters or glass packs without tail pipes and like the sound?

I don't think you are going to find anything you like the sound of with them dumping in front of the axle. I've ridden in a friend's truck set up that way and after about 20 miles my brain is numb from the constant concussion from the exhaust. It might be because he likes to get on it pretty hard too though.

Well I have a 292 Yblock on my 64F100 and just wanted to know what size inlet/otlet porter muffler is best with ram horn manifolds? Porter has 3 sizes; 2.75, 3.0, 3.5 can anyone help a brother out :)

  14. I have a 272 in my '56, and was hoping to find out what size porters he is using so I can make sure I get the same size.

  15. Sorry for the delay....the real world gets kinda busy sometimes.

Actually Porter has tons of sizes, 1.75-3.5". I'm using the original non-stainless Porters (not the shorty or truck model) with the 2' in/out and 20" body. I think the overall length is 26-27" ?

Anyway...Love the damn things. Put about 600mi on the truck since I got em, and they sound better every time I start it up.

  16. Awesome, and thanks for the info. Your truck sounds great!
