A couple of months ago I had the unfortunate experience of riding in a club mates and fellow hamber(Ratbastad) deuce roadster. Being a model 40 guy, this fateful night turned me to the dark side. This experience stayed in my mind, cold sweats at night, I think I had deuce fever. Well not long after this I was browsing that auction site when a unfinished project popped up, brookville body, asc rails, original x members, merc, 39 box, unsplit bones and a 3.54 32 rear end. The deal was done, and I have to give all credit to Darren, the builder, who due to unfortunate circumstances had to sell. Well it's now in my shed, the merc is out for a build, steering box and column in, mounting pedals, hoping to have it ready for next summer. Plans are coach maroon paint. 35 wires and black walls, not reinventing the wheel, just hoping for a nice ride. I'll keep the updates coming. Thommo. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Hi Mate! Remember, build the car the way YOU want, thats the most important part. Oh wait, second to what your local TAC Engineer wants I know the rules are different for each of your states so I share your pain. Nice way to start, and you have a good jump on things. Little effort you will be driving before summer is over. I started a 32 Roadster myself on Sunday 24th. Plan to have the roller ready for final welding this weekend if all goes well. Want to get it done by May 19th. No pressure. One of our local runs kicks of our season that day, otherwise I will be ready for the Back to the 50s weekend in St Paul Minnesota in June. Last I heard there was NO antivirus for 32 fever. Your stuck dealing with it the rest of your life. Sorry...

Thanks for the comments fellas, and yes bails I did clean the shed! Just a quick update, the motor is stripped, it's had a couple of sleeves put in at some stage, I noticed rust in one pot and some heavy pitting on the sleeve, so after Easter the block is heading of for a crack and pressure test before going any further, if all checks out ok then full steam ahead. I have a set of centre outlet Navarro heads and I'll change the front of the motor to an early style with 59a cam and gears, crab dist etc. All for now, thommo. Nice nice !! You guys shoulda seen the glazed look on Thommo's face while we were blastin down the beachside Hwy in the "other" roadster. I even had to ask if he was "ok" Guess I shoulda known, I had the same glazed look after blasting around in Flatoz's roadster years ago. This is gonna be one real nice car when done, some real nice primo original parts on her for sure. Keep em comin Thommo.... Rat
Great to see Thommo, You won't regret it, being a long suffering 32-roadster-itis guy myself. there's just something about them.
