No, unfortunately we will not be there. We will be taking the Willys to most of the places this year. Please send me pictures when your Rockne is done.

Really? Thanks for the post. Please refrain from looking at this post then since it may be offensive being that it is a street rod. I posted it since it was a historic rebuild of my father's car. This entire post was requested by others on this forum since they wanted to see this car. It wasn't because I had a desire to hear others complain about something that took us 13 years to build and has been in our family since 1968. This car has more history behind it than most of the other cars on this site. It won the first Street Rod Nationals and the 40th and has been in Hot Rod Yearbook and over 15 magazines in the past. Sorry that it doesn't fit your standards. I was taught at an early age the if I didn't have something positive to say about someone's cars that I was to just keep quiet. It was a great lesson that needs to be passed along.

Kevin, your Dad was a 1 of a kind. I followed with interest ALL the cars that he built. I see the apple didn't fall far from the tree. If the naysayers had 1/2 the time and talent that is put in your car, they would be crowing like roosters(instead of being ashamed to put their address or pics of their cars) I don't care what they call your car, it is 1st class all the way. Keep it up.
Some of us "Older" guys still call our cars "Street Rods" and also we attended "Rod Runs" can you explain the difference between a Street Rod, Hot Rod, and a "Brat Rod?........LOL Give me a break.......
Thank you for the compliment of my father. He never met someone he didn't like. This car represents him and what he was looking to do with the car, of course, we went a little above and beyond what he would have taken it to back then. I would give the car up or give it away if he could return for one more day!
Hey KevinS,do you think you could post some pictures of your trunk and or rumble area,mine is almost gone,and i would love to see some pictures of what it is supposed to look like.By the way,did you see the pictures of the magazine your dads car was in,on page two of this thread?
Here are some of the trunk area and rear end shots. The body lines are all original. It is a big panel and extends a lot further out than a Ford. The rear fenders have been widened to fit a larger tire. I did not want to cut up the body or original fender wells. They were also reworked and built up to be flush with the very back side of the rear panel (flat part). The original fenders are lower than the body section. Hopefully you can see what I am talking about on the picture with the fenders on the car.
Here are some more shots of the car on the back side and the trunk area when it was being finished. The gas tank is in the trunk since we didn't want to cut into the body for a gas door. The battery is hidden in one of the quarter panels as is the fuse panel behind the small panel.

Nice Rockne. The neighbor of my friend in California had a Rockne street rod. Every time that I am out there we go over and visit and look at the Rockne and his other hot rods. Sadly he passed away from cancer a couple of years ago so his son probably has the car now.
I'm glad I looked in this thread to gain appreciation for such a beautiful car that I didn't previously know. The body lines and details are unique and outstanding. Congratulations and no doubt your dad would be very proud of you and those who helped you build it.
Very nice. Thats what i hate about this fucking place. People feel the need to force there own views instead of seeing the accomplishment of finishing a car and putting it on the road. If you cant say something nice, keep your fucking mouth shut. We have enough assholes to deal with on a daily basis. So glad to see the Rockne back on the road...I first met Buzz in Gatlinburg (Mid South Street Rod Roundup) in 1973! I loved the Rockne (purple at the time) and Buzz was a first class gentleman. Later when I finished my 32 Studebaker President, we would park together at times to show the major differences in the Stude and the Rockne...Buzz would be so proud that his son is continuing to enjoy his pride and joy.....Joe
beautiful car. always liked those rare rockne's. there is a big rockne sedan in town i drool over ever time I see it at shows..good job on the car.
Just went to Houston to pick up a '32 Studebaker Dictator Sedan for some friends of ours. Looks and runs pretty well, has the original straight 8 in it, but it's gonna be a Rod as soon as they get their garage up and the '35 Pickup sold!!
I remember seeing your sedan at a number of shows. I always loved how big it was and different. I remember my father saying that he had met you before. Thanks for sharing. I love your car!
