  10. My dad says some local powerlines were the "free junkyard", back when people had to pay to bring a vehicle to a scrap yard, and before local dumping laws. I still find alot of old "junk" cars on powerlines near these taconite mines.

John's is decent, been there many times. In VA you have Leon's though which is far better! Unless that is John takes you to his house a few miles away from the yard where all the better stuff is, then it's comparable to Leon's.

I'll play. This old race car been sitting and rotting for decades. Has a lot of local history. The owner will sell but it was always way stupid money. He's cleaning out the yard now and he's tryng hard to get me to buy it, almost priced to where I might go get it, last thing I need but...

Such a great post...Two Model AA's were pulled out of the woods in upstate NY. The owner kept one to restore and he was going to strip the other one before I saved it! I have seen too many awesome cars rot away over the years. When I was 16 I asked to buy a '50s Olds and the owner wanted too much money for it, so he let it rot rather than sell it....Maybe I should change my name to Rot.Rod...

Salt Lake city used to have a wrecking yard near the lake called King's...or something like that. It was moved before the lake filled up in the mid 80s, but had all sorts of stuff back to the 20s. I remember a 38 ish Lincoln Zephyr, complete with the original v12. Have photos from the 70s somewhere, will post them when I dig them up.
