I might be wrong, but I think San Gabriel was shut down by the time Irwindale was opened, Remember that Steve Evans was the anouncer...bowtie40

After Monday the engine goes together for the last time. Once that does we install it and run all the fuel lines. Once those are run we fire up. I will post that to you tube and place the link on here.
The cool part is that we're more relaxed right now with the build. It's lots of small things but that's all good. Yours looks like it's coming along just nicely.
    Thanks for askin Tim :)

It's raining out here and was bored so I made the wood portion of the Pushbar. Going to paint it when it dries out.

Anyone ever see an original fender cover from lions dragstrip? It says class winner so it looks like this was a gift with the class win. This is my valentines day gift. Pretty damn cool!!

Ok picked up a set of early hubs...actually these are the original hubs for this car that are off this car. How do I know? Well it turns out we know a guy that knows a guy that bought these from the guy that had the whole car, That we bought the car from.
Confusing??? of course but who cares the restoration gods are smiling.

  15. Hey Chuy, if you ever get in touch with Al at Speed Frame, tell him Ray says Hi. I worked there for a couple years back in the 90s. Toymaker is right, he has (had) ALL the cool stuff for FE fords. We stayed freinds, but I haven't been in touch with him for a few years, though.

Just brought the engine back. Lightening up the clutch tension so she's a little easier for Gary. Once that's done we assemble and install the whole enchilada.

Installed the motor plate, clutch can, candlestick and in and out box onto the chassis to ensure we had proper fit and engagement of the in and out box before we went any further with the engine installation. We then took the motor plate, flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate, throwout bearing, clutch fork, candle stick, input shaft and in and out box and mocked that up on the motor. Thanks to the million measurements we made before we ordered parts, it all went together with all the right clearances. Spun the motor over to ensure no binding of the shaft and no extra contact at the pilot bearing and everything moved quite nicely. Damn this is fun!

Well you wanted more pics...you got it. Had a few small snags but we dominated. That's Steve and his dad Freddy the secret weapon and me. This car got real small after we installed the motor. In and out box goes in real nice...safety first!
