  3. The Mercury cast into the head is a good sign. :)

also looks like a later one with the hoses coming out the front of the heads.

    Two up two down.

Try using an image hosting site like photo bucket. Unlett I'm the only one who can't see the pics. I'm interested as grinnell isn't too far from me

  12. Lets keep the trucks on topic to the HAMB please, thank you...nice truck by the way

  13. I don't know what these people are trying. There are a bunch of FNG's recently with a first-name-and-three-digit-number user names that are epic failing at posting any images. Either they don't know what they're doing or they're specifically trying to drive me nuts...

And speaking of fail...mentalstates, when you get an idea of what site you're on...aw, never mind, it's like hollerin' at the kids...

Thanks to some help from my fellow club members, I found the code on the engine and it was manufactured Oct 29, 1953.

BTW, found vin number on frame and on trans and both match the vin on the title. It took some work to find it on the chassis.

Thanks for the supporting observations that its a Merc.

Thought I would toss a couple of pics of my 35 Ford in mock up. Mike at Gas Axe helping with fab work and will rebuild the 1957 265 Powerpack when funds come available. Chrome reverse are 50 year old originals. 49 dash, 4" dropped axle, parallel leafs out back with an 8" complete the drive train.

You guys have given me so much inspiration with this. I'm in the planning stages of a build and you guys have given me awesome ideas. I want to make a truck with a 1951 Diamond T cab and front end, 1955 bed, all on a modernish drivetrain (not HAMB friendly I know, but it's cheaper and all I can really afford being still in highschool) Here's the photoshop mockup of my plan:

I really want sideboards now too, I love that idea. It'll be pretty heavily patina'd and have those red steelies. Thanks for all the awesome ideas fellas.

My "project" truck I picked up not too long ago, looks real good, but still needs all the good stuff to get cruisin....I am in the process of finishing the wiring for my LS swap in the truck, and a few odds and ends...but I'm getting there!
