Some headers found in a garage attic

Hi all. I suppose this may be the most underwhelming garage find ever, but I was helping my mom put her house in order for sale and found these old headers up in the garage attic. I admit to being a newbie at this sort of thing, and I tried a google image search without luck. Does anyone know off the top of their head what engine these might have come of off? The house dates to 1915 so they could have come from anything. Thanks in advance - John

Those are garden variety Pontiac V-8 exhaust manifolds. You might be able to de-code them to get specific, but they most likely will not be very interesting.

Hang on to em, you never know when you might need a set...

Mid 60s? Pontiac. I'd think they'd bring at least $100.00 on ebay.

 

I'd say 60's early 70's also, the newer style 70's manifolds have a 3 bolt flange for the downpipe.

 

Not a chance! Maybe $20. if your lucky.

I looked up the definitions and I stand corrected!

 

I can't seem to match the numbers to anything on that list, but I did find a reference to part 9779082 being the exhaust manifold for a 1968 Pontiac 400 engine:

I guess my curiosity is mostly satisfied. Mid-60s Pontiac.

 

I envision some guy years ago, installing headers on his car (and a set of Cragars), then tossing the exhaust manifolds up in the rafters.

 

I was envisioning his mom doing it.

 

Nothing like Poncho parts in the attic. Would have been awsome if it was mom who put Cragars and headers on the family truckster. Time to break out the family photos.

They look identical to those on my 57 347 Pontiac engine - I could use a spare set...

 

The op's driver side manifold is a rear exit and not the same, as the 347 would have had a front exit on the driver side.

 

Yep. Some early ones have a front dump. Some other early ones have a center dump. Those sometimes come in handy getting around a steering box when stuffing Pontiac engines in things that they didn't originaly come in...
