6 or 12 volt lights

    How can you tell if a light is a 6 or 12 volt light. ImageUploadedByTJJ1363564555.758615.jpg these are the lights in question. I put the one in the chrome housing the other is in a factory ford housing but not sure of details of it. ImageUploadedByTJJ1363564693.388420.jpg

    Take the bulb out and see if it says in the back or if it has a part number you can search. Or hook it up to 12v and see if it blows, that's how I usually check
     
  3. Hook it to 12V. If it burns out, it was 6V:D
    If it's a sealed beam, it might say so on the back or there may be a number that you can reference.

    Edit...looks like ev88f and I are brothers from a different mother

    or hook it up to 6v and see if it is dim or bright. Dim=12v bulb Bright =6v bulb
