As night falls on the Motor City, My Autorama experience begins to happen, as it has for some decades now. A bees-nest of activity, and frantic exhibitors trying to get that last detail perfect for the "show",...... slowly subsides to the lonely sound of the "people mover" ratcheting over it's elevated track , right through Cobo Hall...... And the lonely sound of mine and my MHRA partners golf cart's echoing inside this vast expanse of open area, filled with a eloquent tapestry of individual custom automotive interpenetration. The Detroit Autorama,.... just like it has done, repeating the same energy and excitement as it has over the last 61 years,......

A show that is a seamless connection of annual events that reach back over the years and decades to the foundation of Hot Rodding,..... A lifeline to our history.... The spirits of Autorama's past come calling in a ghostly white to meet the promise of Hot Roddings future,..... You can feel the energy of this sport that we love dearly being passed from generation to generation with the same passion and excitement that harkens back to it's infancy....... History in the making, and honoring those who passed before us..... keeping there names and memories alive in the stories we tell and and automotive creations they leave behind,..... As well as inspiring the next generations of Hot Rod builders to follow along in this tradition...... Autorama and History are alive in the Motor City..... I am honored to be a part of it.........

Excellent writing and great pics! At our AutoRama, I was able to help a few friends setup the night before it opened. Being in that arena, with all the cars, made me think of what a cool collection of cars I'd have if I ever won the lotto.

    Thanks for the pics.
