RW Ohio, Thanks for the link...I have gone through seventy pages of pictures. It will take a month to go through all the albums.

  3. Hey guys, I went to check out Les Welchs' website and in the older section 60-70's I found a ton of great 6 cylinder stuff.

  4. I guess that the site is down now went back to it last nite and it was gone.

Gabby passed away several years ago but still had the 32 5 window coupe that he had cut the roof off of and raced in his youth. His son has the car now and has some plans to redo the car not sure what his plans or direction are for the car.

Sorry to hear that he has passed on. But if you could, keep us posted on what is going on with the car.

Here is a few shots of one of my friend, Dick Massie's, drag cars from the 60's and 70's

This first one is a T-Bucket drag car, it had a Ford 262 bored 0.125 over out of a 57 / 58 pickup truck. Good running car.

This second one was built after the T and is a slingshot dragster with a 300 CI Ford truck inline 6 motor bored to 310 CI with two 392 Chrysler Hemi heads cut and welded together to make a 6 cylinder head on top of it. This car ran low 9's in the late 60's with a 727 automatic transmission and a merc rearend.

This last one is basically the same car as above but with some updates, the engine is the same with a different lower end as the one from above was worn-out. The picture is from the winners circle at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis in 1970. The car won the D / Dragster class. Dick is on the left and Tom Baker, the driver, is on the right. This car ran 8.43 in the quarter, not bad for a 6 cylinder back then.

    Hope you like them!

Nice pics - pretty car with good history.

The last pic shows a stock head (U-flow design, not crossflow like in the previous pic). If that ran a 8.4 that was really good back then.

The fuel injection on the 262 is 1/2 of a Hilborn unit for a 330 CI Buick V8.

    FrenchTown:

Your right, that was a re-worked Ford head on there.
