How cool is this photo? Guy even has his pit pass tied to his belt loop!

    Just looking through these again....

I recognized Councilman Tom Bradley on the left and saw that it was LA Mayor Norris Poulson cutting the ribbon...

    If anyone cares.

Don't care, but the girl in the middle is the cute one. I do have a thing for leopard print, but my wife says if I like it, I can wear it.

I think the one in the middle, looking jealously at Miss Auto Show is the prettiest one.

Many, many years ago my girlfriend (now wife) was a trophy girl for one night at a local 1/4 mile dirt track. She said it was the most embarrassing night of her life. She's modest and wasn't cut out for it.

Jalopy Junkie....on your post #982 on page 50 you have a shot of the rod father Andy Brizio and in front of him is his wife Sue. Don't know if this photo was about Andy being the flagman at half moon bay drag strip or what, just a good picture.

If anyone has a 65 NHRA (Indy) winner pic of a Blue 55 Bel Air "Mr. Tuff" I'd love to see it.

  25. The dude holding up the checkered flag in the background of alot of pics cracks me up. So awkward

Yeah, when they took that kind of photo, I always handed the checkered flag to the driver and let him hold it. The photo wasn't supposed to be about the flagman. Sometimes it was tough getting it back. I only got in the photo if the shooter asked me to.

Cool old racetrack cuties thread. :D

Makes me remember back to a race once on a hot summer day when the drivers wore open face helments with no windshield glass. I suggested my girlfriend who was with me to try out for the next years speedway queen. She snapped "no way"!
I asked her why and expected an answer something like " I don't think my legs are long enough". Instead she said " I don't want to have to kiss those dirty sweaty old men":D
