Nice looking engine, but how old is the Holden 6?
Chevy started doing inline sixes in the '29 model year.

Nice one Cody! That sounds pretty healthy. Keep us up to speed with how you get on with the rest of your build.

General Motors Holden (Australia) had the grey motor like I run from 1948 to 1963 then crossed over to the later red motor series late 1963. First of the red motors was the 149 cubic inch followed by the 179. There are a wide range of variations of the red motors over the decades that followed, sizes like 138,149,161,179,186,202 also high and low compression models.
As a habitual tinkerer they are great old motors and I have abused quite a few over the years:D:D but I now have gone back to the grey motors for nostalgic reasons;)

79 200 .040 cast pistons, ARP bolts, clevite bearings, comp HE260 cam, double roller timing set, 79 large log head, 1.75/ 1.44 SI stainless valves with a backcut intake, pocket ported, sealed power VS733 302 short springs, crane locks and retainers, adjustable rockers, Offy tri-power intake with weber 34ICH carbs, clifford dual outlet header with 2" thrush turbos turned down at the rear axle, Davis Unified street strip distributer, backing it is a stock C/4 auto with 3.20 gears. Mileage averages 16 MPG but that is a lot of in town driving, alot less when I let the engine breath.maybe 145 or 150 hp with a broad power band that pulls to around 5,300 RPM just enough to have fun.not too bad considering the stock 200 makes about 85 to 90 HP at the wheels. next build will also be a 200 but with about 215 HP at the tires plus a 75 hp N2O shot.

Just picked up a set off long headers for my 250ci , only thing is they don't clear my push style clutch slave setup. Need to go with the pull style slave on this t5 . Any one have the same issue, any pics of pull setup?

Got one underway that's getting an OT for the HAMB GM straight 6.

I won't be posting a build thread on here since it (the engine) has many features that are frowned on here, and the method I plan to feed it forced induction is especially frowned on here (having two of them is unlikely to make it more accepted) but that is a project for after it is driving under it's new power. :D

OT or not, it sounds interesting Eric. Perhaps a build thread on the vehicle with incidentals on the engine might be more accepted than you think.

HAMB sister forum for our OT builds. Build thread there, a link in your HAMB signature line here. Problem solved.

I like that. Hopefully I'll have something similar to share with this thread by the end of April.

I'm sportin a 235/T5 combo with a single one bbl and split fentons. The only complaint is it has a lil dead spot in it, not sure yet if its carb or ignition, had some ignition probs late last year so I just bought a pertronix, gotta get it put in then decide what to do about the carb. Other than that its a great combo, gotta admit I'm thinkin bout goin to a 700R4 though.
