I am leaving Indy at 0 dark 30 on Thursday and get in to LAX around 11. It would be earlier but Delta have me flying to Atlanta to get to the left coast.
On Friday evening there is going to be a bit of action in John Hale's pit (Mike Burkhart Camaro F/C) so it will pay to hang around after qualifying.

we'll be flying into LAX Wednesday around lunchtime

  13. Friday night's going to be fun for sure! John's pit has always been one of my first stops after we get things put away in the Densham & Rupert pit for the night, because John and his entire team are some of the nicest people in all of drag racing. Plus it never hurts that this trailer always has "Forty Creek" whiskey on hand.

Evidently not with the Delta "hubs" even though it seems so simple to fly from here to there to there in almost a direct line most airlines fly you from your location to one of their Hubs where you transfer to another plain that flies to your intended destination. Lots of people get to say they were in Atlanta that way.

Famosa has to stay on my bucket list for at least another year. I'm going to have to live it though the photos and videos of those who went this year so take an share lots.

I am TOO familiar with hub operations,, more than i want to be.. Indy to cinci is a two hour drive, then straight to LAX Most likely cheaper and wont have the extra time in and out of ATL. Done that drive many times going to INDY

Driving from Vegas Fri.AM with my gang and thinking of taking them to the Crystal Palace on Sat. evening just for something different. We'll probably hang with Mousie and Mike and go visit Joel (the Godfather of NE) Gruzen. Hope to see some HAMBers there.

See you all out there! On the way out the door now. Going in as soon as the open gate today at noon. I was out there last night. 80 trailers lined up for camping and ~ 50 racers lined up to get in.

This newbie will finally be there, as well with two other newbie friends that talked me into going when I decided not to go. Coming down Wednesday afternoon from Nor-Cal. I'm really looking forward to being there.

I have done that gig in the past but I have been helping Jokerr get his three Autorama entries ready for the trip to Detroit and we have been working late (him much more than me) and I did not fell like the drive to Cincy early in the morning. There used to be a bunch of direct flights out of Indy to LA but not anymore. At least the return on Sunday night is a direct so I will be back in the shop on Monday.
