I'm having one of those Internet debates that have no value... a couple of people have INSISTED there is no use for an 11/16" wrench... because THEY have never used one. I happened to have used one on my Rochester 2GC just yesterday. What other things use 11/16" wrench or socket?

Many times a bolt with a 5/8" head has an 11/16" nut on the other end. Those people are fools!

Yep, I already made that point. They didn't believe me.

You could open a paint can with it! There you go!

It amazes me this could even be an internet argument...

    adjust '40 ford brakes, a 11/16 and a 3/4....

  12. Was just laughing to myself the other day how often my HAMB and traditional hot rod friends use 11/16 stuff. We were taking the trans out of a 34 pickup and kept passing the 11/16 wrench around.

Other than that, try taking a 65/72 AMC product apart without any 11/16 stuff. Good luck.

Funny you should say that Bodi, I was trying to think of what early Ford stuff required an 11/16"... Torque tube bells for one! Crap, I use mine all the time.

11/16 deep well socket makes a great guitar slide, too.

One guy just posted a comment that he's been a mechanic for 30 years, blah blah blah.. and then stated that there is no such thing as an 11/16" nut. I walked out to my garage, reached into my junk drawer (you know the one... it has nuts and bolts crammed so full it barely closes), and this is what I found within 10 seconds of fishing around...

    Wrench must be mislabeled ;)

As you can see, that wrench has some wear and tear on it. I must have found something to turn with it over the years.

I've used it on shock mount nuts. I've also used it as a backup for a metric but I can't remember the size. Google calls it really close to 17.5 mm.

How about a 11/32 wrench. Sure sits in my tool box between my 5/16 and 3/8 alot collecting dust. (old skool)

Good photo XXL. Again as stated previous, a 7/16 bolt has a 5/8 head and the nut, 99% of the time is 11/16.

I use my 11/16 a lot more than my 13/16 and a few other oddball sizes in my toolbox.

OT, but in my day-job as an aircraft mechanic, it seems that damn near every AN or MS fitting is either a 9/16" or 11/16". Probably my most used wrenches are these, or a double-box end 11/16"-5/8".

Pretty unusual to have a 7/16" nut that isn't 11/16". Normally only the bolt is 5/8" .

I have 19/32" , only ever used it on 428 Cobra Jet rod nuts.
