So today I decided to sit on Craigslist. I saw a 1962 land rover for sale and I was think how different it would be to make that into a Custom Rod but I looked it up and some people have. It was pretty neat, makes me want to go and do it now.

Anyone else ever seen any odd car and think what it would look like custom? Or seen a odd car already custom?

Spend some time lookin' around here, there's plenty of "oddball" cars and trucks being built and driven by hambers. I hope to have my oddball done within the next year or so!

  9. I love seenig what some of our European cousins are building with their native vehicles. Some old Eastern block cars are good looking custom material too.

  10. It's not just the cars and trucks that are odd around here. :D

Oh it is amazing how people think outside of the box.
I think after I am done with the Cadi then I might actually find a Land Rover from 64 or older and chop the top and slam it to the grown and see how it comes out.

I love odd cars, I built a blown Hemi Henry j over 20 years ago and still have it, the way to do it is maybe find a 50's car that you like and build it different then everyone else and this can be done if you do your home work and do modifications that no one else has done. That's what I'm doing!

Heck yea. I will remember that. I better start doing my homework.

  17. That utility box truck would be perfect with some new glass and a coat of paint. I work out of a 1947 1/2 ton now. I could not imagine being able to have places for stuff.

When I first saw the truck I just had so many idea's run through my mind but I ended up picking up something else.
I will have to save up for the project and the trip to get it some day but my priorities must come first at the moment

I've done the Land Rover thing...its a fancy tractor. The Rover may look cooler than a riding mower, but the mower will smoke it in the 1/4.
Fun cars though. Theres an OT pic of my old one in my FNG post

It may be a VW base but after flogging off some stuff I bought for it and didn't use it owes me just £510..(under $800) and is maybe £50 from being on the road and legal

this what I started with...yes it was cheap (£40) and yes I do have a "proper" rod as well

Hey FunkyFink, hell yeah that puppy is KUSTOM! Not to mention it is also the damn sexiest panel van out there!

Paul, I am a lifetime VW hater (family hand down....) but I like that Fiat. Great work.
    (Now I'm gonna' catch hell!)
