This is what happens when you don't do any work in your shop for almost a year. Don't let this happen to you.....

If I didn't live in an HOA, I could double my garage space ... then I could double my number of cars.

To set the picture I'm closer to 70 that I am to 60 and I always thought I wanted a lift in the garage. last Christmas Wifey says to me, get me the numbers, Model , name of the lift you want etc. etc.I'm getting you one for Christmas.
Praise the Lord, finally a lift, life's good .
So''s I go up to the garage to scope out the best location , do some measuring, etc. etc.
Nope can't put it here would lose a parking spot, can't put it here that's where I do my welding, wouldn't do any good here that's where I do the body work and sanding, not here that's for the work bench and tool box.
Went home and told Wifey , ya know I've been sliding around on my back on cardboard for probably 50 years , not too much time left anyway , I don't want a lift.
See just sighed and said , "And they say women can't make up their mind "!

Cool shop Hugh! Quite a collection.

This is a picture of my year old shop. A shop fills up quick when you have a couple projects at the same time. I'm in the process of re-arranging so I will have a little room to work.

My garage is 2 cars wide with a 1 car door, and barely long enough for my 55. It was built in the Thirties and badly renovated in the Fifties. The structure is good but the "updates" need repair. That's on the list for as soon as we get out of this damned cold weather. No idea if it's worth the effort but it's more affordable than a new building right now.

I posted earlier in the thread but here's a pick again, I live north of Houston and have a crap load of humidity down here , my floor does not sweat but my aluminum and chrome does on my car. Would roof vents help out? Or is anybody useing dehumidifier? Even my boat motor sweats. ImageUploadedByTJJ1360602962.093409.jpg

I had similar issues and now I run a small roll around dehumidifier (bought at Lowes) 24x7 and it's made all the difference in the world.

Do you leave it when the doors are shut?

Yeah, I only shut it down when the doors are open. The unit I use has an outlet on the back for a garden hose that lets the water drain unattended. It runs 24x7 and only adds about $20 to my electric bill.

If it ain't dirty, your not doing it right.

Don't get me wrong these "show" garages look great, but I dont see how you can grind, weld, torch and paint with all that pretty stuff on the walls and floor.
