Currently between jobs. But usually do chemical analysis of water and wastewater. I've had the privilege of analyzing chicken shit - the worst type of shit.

Im a mechanical engineer for a medical device company. The medical devices that we manufacture remove blood clots from within human arteries. Basically, its a roto-rooter for arteries. I do a lot of equipment design to manufacture really small parts. When I first started at this company, I used to do production support of a really cool custom plunge EDM machine. It would use 0.0015" diameter electrodes. Thats not a typo either! The machine was originally built in the mid-90s and still running strong. Its challenging and a fun career so far.

Grew up in my dad's race car shop and my mom's sewing machine shop, and have been in both in some form or another all my life - lot's of the time both at the same time! In the corporate world I created and helped build the chain of sewing machine shops that are in the JoAnn fabric stores throught the country. I didn't dig the whole "upper upper management corporate guy" thing, so these days my commute is exactly 60' out the back door to my louver shop, Hot Rod Central Louver Co. And that's why my crap is never done!

I'm a firefighter with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade in Melbourne, Australia. Have been for 26 years, so help me!

  26. Fitter turner/ welder for 22 years, last 5 of those have been working for myself building hot rods and restoring cars. Just shifted to Australia for a year to work construction building a gold mine in the middle of the desert, reason for the change, wife decided she wants to overhaul the house and I pay more in tax a week at my new job than I payed myself in 3 weeks back home so it is a sure fire way to make some quick money and return to my passion of building cars. The down side is the work is a no brainer and definatly not a challenge and we have just been through a week of searing temperatures ranging from 48 degrees C to 52 degrees C. Give me the cold any day as its almost to much to handle sometimes!!

Me, mostly automotive related; Ford Parts and Service, dealer level, mechanic, industrial equipment repair, some sales and last a class "A" truck driver. Local only, I'm a wuss, I like to sleep in my own warm bed at night!! ; ) Got into the driving because of a marriage that was going to crater; quickest thing I could find to make better money!! ; ) But, now I'm "semi-retired", (goofing off), LOL, I'm busier and enjoying life more than ever!! I want to thank all the vets, law enforcement, fire fighters, first responders, emergency people; thanks for your service!! God Bless America!!
