    watched the preview.
    Yea, Shit I'd watch it.
Its got good cars, burning rubber, real-ish looking street racing. Maybe not hollywood acting, but all the hollywood actors suck anyways.
Kinda does remind me of street races. I think alotta you guys would be surprised at how rough the streets are at night with a hot car.
I mean, not saying this is a "accurate portrayal" of hotrodders... But then again, It would be boring if it was :p

And people saying "the violence, car theft etc...not for me"
Dude, I watch oceans 11, Casino etc...But i aint ever robbed millons off anyone with brad pitt:rolleyes:

Looks watchable. Good job I just might have ta drop some beer money on it.

HPIM8944 (Small).JPG Many seem to be panning the movie because of the trailer, I will explain it in abit more detail.

The guy in the car with the girl holding the knife is not a hotroder, and does not care about hot rods, he is a paid criminal sent by higher ups to aquire top secret info from a corporation. The hotroders accidently get caught up in his shady dealings, as they aquired some of his property. The scenes with the knife are followed moments later with laughter. The hotroders dont have any guns, and two of the fight scenes are them trying to get away from the bad guy. No, the pistol is not a shot gun, it's just random shots put together for the trailer. The movie has alot of comedy and most of the tough guy hotroders are are kind of wanabe tough guys. The music runs through several types, rockabily, rock, softer background and other. The trailer does not give a true depiction of the movie/plot, there are some serious scenes with family and friends, there really is alot more to this movie than has been shown.

The main characters ultimate goal is to get together enough $$$ to start their own speed shop, I think many of us could relate to that.

    Well, i can say this:

You got it together and you did it. Which is more than i can say for wankers such as myself.

This means you can do it again bigger and better [i too, am judging a book by it's cover---(the trailer)]

P.S. Did you watch/review the menstruation video? (i was physically and mentally uncomfortable while i watched it)

    Here's the link again:

Anyways, that's the kind of acting you don't want. What you want is to pretend the camera isn't there almost.

    b) You may also want to consider sending your actors to acting school maybe.

My high hopes for the movie were crushed by the predictabity and lame acting. I know hot rod movies a cheezy but I like them. This movie was painfull to watch. I wish it was better. Agnostic front was almost predictable too. Ripped from hot rod havoc 2. To sum it up, lame and predictable. Too bad.

  14. You lost me at CAR GANGS RULE THE STREETS.

But what do I know, I thought Deuce of Spades was hilariously lame.

  15. knowing most of the guys makes the movie good to me. Dan as a cop is great to anyone that knows him. BUT the donut thing is real, LOL the cars are all southern oregon rides and drivers in snow rain heat DRIVERS.

I had trouble watching the movie trailer to the end. I hope you didn't put too much money into making the movie. Whatever it was you probably will never get it back.

Even if this movie had a decent story and acting it would not sell. There is a reason big movie studios are not making any "Hot Rod" style of movies. There is no interest in the general public in seeing one. Reality: there is little to no intrest in traditional hot rods and customs by the vast majority of people.

    1) Again, i have to say that you got it together and you did it, and i'm damn proud of you for you that; That is beautiful in and of itself. This means that you have experience and the next one can be better. [ i am not implying that this one is not as good(actually i am)]

But good effort. Wankers (and critics) such as myself can only dream about such accomplishments.

Keep going and Do not give up.

    2. Can we talk about the menstruation video? i cringed while watching it; It was almost tortuous to watch----yet i couldn't turn away......

    a) To anyone else, can we talk about the menstruation video?

    3) i would generally agree, however:

    a) Why make a Snake and Mongoose movie? Will this be released in the theatres? Will the average man bring his date to see it? Probably not, because the average guy below say 50 doesn't give a shit and even if they do go is she going to "get it?" Even if she does get it, will she really remember it meaningfully, Probably not. They, the couple, will most likely see trash like "Identity theft." Yet, they are still producing this movie. So there must be some validity to it.

    b) The Fast and Furious series is very sucessful. i think the general, non-car-guy public does not know or care a difference between a 97 mitsubisihi eclipse and a 57 chevy---just as long as it has an engine and 4 wheels it's just a car to them.

b1) Also remember "American Graffiti;" This one had a car with no fenders and the movie was still very successful.

i think car movies can work provided they have a good story and the acting is believable (i.e., don't hire Keanu Reeves).

Ok, i just re-watched the trailer and it's funny how memory works:

The acting was not as bad as i thought:

    1) Ironically, the line, "real movies have real actors who get paid big etc." was convincing and good.

    2) The part where he comes at me(the camera) with a knife and says,"This is what happens when you mess with my car!" was pretty real---and SCARY.

    3) The line, "I was aiming to blow the doors off of it, but it looks like they are going to fall off by themselves." was actually better than i remembered the first time.

So, i would have to say that the trailer was not as bad as i originally remembered it to be---i have only watched it twice. At this point, i feel i should reserve further judgement until i watch the whole movie.

I didn't make the trailer and I have talked to him about putting together a different one to show some of the lighter side of the movie.

You can't compare this movie to a 200 million dollar production, all the people in it did it for free and they were all local. Try and get 50 or so hot rods together to do different scenes at different times during a 3 year period, no easy task. He made the movie because he wanted to, he never made it in hopes of making millions of dollars, all involved had a great time and watching the filming really opens up your eyes to how things are done and how much work it really is. To those who watched it and didn't like it watch it with what I said in mind, I think it has a great plot/story line, and some great comedy.

  25. Well, I just gotta have my very own copy. I've lived in Medford as my family lives in that town and my brother "Janglehead" here on the HAMB lives in Medford has his low 10 second Morris Minor in the movie. I think it's great these guys got together to actually do something instead of standing around the shop and talking about it. Yeah, it's pretty dark but real life can be too. Believe me, Medford is nothing like this.

Good point, but to me a Snake v Mongoose movie is not a traditional hot rod, custom car movie. Don't get me wrong, I'll go see it, I grew up in the 70's. I hope the movie has some good acting in it, or it will be in theatres for a very short time. Showing funny cars racing will not keep people going to see it.

is this hotroding?- get off work, wash car, shine wheels cuz thats the only thing shinny besides the 500hp big block in the said car, no facebook or cell phones so you have to get in your car, go to gas station then hunt the strip for your buddies. but before you get one lap of the strip completed you-
1- started talking to a car load of girls
2- got into a drag race at a stop light
3- got pulled over by cops for doing a burnout, chicken scratch, too loud of exhaust, (this list goes on)
4- saw a hotrod on the side of the road broke down and stopped to help ( car guy code)
5- have now had to stop at gas station again
6- fist fight or a rumble ( nothin wrong with a bloody nose once and a while)
well that was my old school and it is now gone.... so first off- WOW! the amount of negativity was amazing but whatever. my friend posted the trailer here because this was an old school site that was for real hotroders and builders.
here is the deal- my trailer sux- check. it was low budget - check. bad acting, ok -check. I am also nobody in the hollywood scene, have no money and have been disliked by streetroders for not having paint on my car, by traditionalists for having mags and NOS on my car, and by hotroders for doing (something) wrong. but I made a movie on what I lived.
there isnt alot of car movies out there and yes I wont make alot of money on it and general population wont like it however, how many of you ( and this is going to sting) actually enjoyed 2 lane blacktop?
mind you I do like it (for the cars) and built a 55 with the homage to the look of the car (as seen in my movie).
My little bro who is 20 years younger than me helped me every night filming the movie, he was a big help and that is the only time in life he will ever get to experience what WE lived. he asked why we didnt have a hot looking chic flaggin the drag races. I told him as a real street racer we never wanted a dizzy broad screwin up the launch cuz the loser would always blame the girl for doing it wrong and thats why he lost. I made the car stuff accurate, had the unsaid car guy code present threw out the movie, no cussing, no nudity or gore. We did it with little money, lots of hard work and if all that comes out of it is the fact that car guys stick together and help each other and show the younger generation what its all about then, We did it! Keep the scene alive- do something. as for the dog thing WTF its a movie!
