Thanks Patrick, if its not any trouble I would like to see a picture or two, I may be up into Coos Bay in a couple weeks depending on weather and leaving with an empty 48' Trail King lowbed trailer, it may not be much trouble to fetch it.
(Apologies if I've posted elsewhere) This is our '54 Airstream 22-footer. Currently gutted, this summer it'll be polished and get all new interior including stainless wet bath, yacht appliances, dinette seating and full-time queen bed in the rear cap. It'll be pulled by the '53 Town and Country, which we'll update this year into both a daily driver and heavy duty tow vehicle. The T&C's frame and flathead 6 are rusted out and tired, so the body and all original interior will be mated to sit on a 2005 Durango (5.7 Hemi) chassis and drivetrain. Trailer should weigh around 3000-3500 lbs full, well within the Durango's rating of 8900 lbs. Plus we'll gain 4WD, ABS, cruise, AC, and disc brakes on independent front and solid rear axles.

Better check the track on the Durango, I think it's quite a bit wider than you TC's. Nice looking car, BTW! Brian
I believe they've done all the pre-measurements on both and things will work out. That Town and Country does look great.

Thanks both. Yes, lots of measuring already done; Fox Valley Hot Rods says the wagon is the wider one, in fact. The Durango chassis and driveshaft will need to be lengthened several inches, however. Not sure if that's more difficult with a modern hydroformed frame - I'm a novice and won't be doing the work - but when done the added wheelbase I'd think we'll see an even more stable ride when towing, perhaps offset a bit by the longer rear overhang. I suppose it's still on topic to say we'll use a Hensley Cub, which is a lighter rated version of their well-regarded Arrow hitch. Virtually eliminates sway, according to everything I've read through the years.
Brad, beautiful wagon. The trailer is no slouch either. Do you have a post with more pic's of the long roof? How about a build post on the Airstream?

No problem, I haven't set a time yet to run up there, actually to Myrtle Point to drop off a GTB army truck, but close enough to Coos Bay.
Just drove this home. Bought it from HAMB classifieds. CCPanel said come get it and drive here home. So jumped on the train and went to Chico Calif and drove straight home with out a problem to Bakersfield.
