This car is already bad ass and it's gonna be even more bad ass when the chop is done. If you need a hand let me know. Always looking for a reason for a couple of Misfits to hang out, drink beer and work on cars.

I completely agree with you. I hate overchopped cars and the widow that lays too flat. Don't you worry, It'll be tasteful. :)

Research and get pics. there are far to many over done chops on shoeboxes. Back window to flat, crown off. Its seems people over chop to just to have chop rather then class.
You shoe is in great shape, please I mean please dont be another victim of overdone, flat, bad back window placement.

Couldn't agree more. Too many people don't know when to stop the chop. Those are the rides you see for sale later and NO BUYERS.

That's a great looking chop! How the car should have looked from the factory.

I´m actually long guy too I think we might be shoebox twins or something:rolleyes:. I chopped also seat frame and even sheetmetal around sides. No problems on fitting behind steering wheel.

One more thing: on heavy chops you easily get illusion that C-Pillar turns hollow or should I say to wrong way. You are lucky when you have good welder as a friend so you can at least avoid wrapping on welds when building rear section of roof.

Just saw you put your car up for sale. What happened (if you don't mind me asking)? I was excited to see this chop!

Some stuff recently came up. I've been avoiding selling the 51 at all costs. It all finally caught up to me and right now it just makes sense to sell. If I don't sell it, it's ok. I don't ABSOLUTELY have to sell the car but it would help me out a lot.

when we did mine we took 5.5 out of the front and 6.5 in the rear.cut the rear glass frame about 6-8 inches all the way around and leave the glass in so it keeps it's shape.i cut the bottom of the a and b posts and changed their angle to meet the new roof line.we did the doors the same way.the peice you remove from the front of the door window frame can be used to fill the void at the top so save it.i think the hardest part of the chop was making the windows function like they should.i think the key to a nice chop on a shoebox is the angle of the rear window and keeping the c pillars radius correct.it's a ton of work but it looks awesome when done correctly.
