Sectioned/Chopped 49 Business Coupe Build

Yeah,the lights were only thing i didnt like on it.
I shot this pic,its pretty low if you compare it to stock:



I hope Kstm49 doesnt mind this small hijacking of his thread.

 

Hi Guy's only got told today there was a thread on here. Since we're the guy's working with Gary and his brother inlaw Corey on this project I'll ask that you be kind and if you see something that you think is wrong or want more detail on please ask.

The project is coming along at a reasonable speed, I think we'll be looking at the chop sometime next week, as most of the changes to the rear half of the car are pretty much lokked in and mostly welded in place.

We just have the replacement door skins to weld up and hammer the edges over and the two small sections to complete the lower rear 1/4 panels before the bracing and the chop.

If there is a call for more pictures let us know we take a lot of them, but dont want to bore people with 100's of build pictures.

Mark, the big sweeping curve where you grafted the rear fenders on, is that to dissipate heat when welding or some other reason (as opposed to cutting in a straight line/square corner)?

As long as you asked I would offer the following. The driver's door doesn't seem to align just right with quarter and top. just off a bit 1/4-1/2 inch?? something I could live with but car is so "right on thought"??? I have a similar problem with my channeled coupe and wish I'd addressed early on. could be just pic angle?

im glad the quarters/tail lights went to a good home.

 

Thanks for the link to the group. The rounding was in part to help even out the heat from welding, partly to get rid of some uglyness in the original panels and the marrage between the Plymouth and the spinner 1/4's seemed to dictate it a little.

I speak with Gary and Corey and see if between us we can arrange more pictures of the process involved.

fuck yeah, glad u started a build thread guys. been watching corey's pics on facebook, im with u guys, too many chopped spinners now ha hahaha, im normally not a fan of sectioned spinners, but mark has taken out just enough as not to make it sqaushed, this is gunna be rad. always a winner in a spinner.

Hi Guy's Sorry about the few double up pictures. It's not Gary and Corey's fault as we hadn't supplied enough pictures earlier.

Hopefully over the coming few weeks we can get the pictures story running in a reasonable straight line and bring the thread into line with the project.
