What it did look like and what it is going to look like.
    Staying all stock running gear.
Considering lowering though a tiny bit with different springs.
Local boces said it should be done when the snow is gone

You have that a little backwards, it's not that they wanted to use up beds, they would have sold them off or scrapped them if that was the case. What actually happened was they were ready to build unibodies but people wanted a separate box (for multiple reasons) and they were not tooled for a box that would match the new body style, so they made boxes on the old 57-60 dies till they had the new tooling ready. The 57-60 boxes were used on the bigger trucks and 4x4's till 66 I hear, and by 64 the new style bed was available on the half tons.

Here is a 63 with the old style bed

and a 64 with the new style box

They never had the rear wheel wells matching the fronts in North America on anything other than the unibody, but they did in Brazil, Argentina and other South American countries (these also run the different unibody doors normally)

And they also built the old body a lot later than North America

And then 67 was the next body style altogether.

I really like the 63s with the separate box. As much as i like the unibody styling i would have a hard time decidin which one i prefer.
JakeDW, i like your truck btw, smoothies and skinnies are so classic you cant go wrong.
Anyways, where do i know your user name from?

Thanks for clearing that up.that last pic looks really odd with the huge tail lights.i still say the matching wheel wells look better on the separated beds.

I love those 64 IHC's there was a guy here in MN a few years ago that had a crewcab short bed that sold. I kick myself every few days for not buying it. It ended up in cali, if anybody ever sees a international crew cab I am still looking to this day for another.:(

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pics of the beds from other countries. While I knew the whole story about the mis-matched beds, etc, I was not aware of the foreign ones.

As far as my '63 goes, it's was a Colorado truck all it's life, so it looks fairly solid. I took delivery of it on a Friday the 13th, so my kids and I thought it only seemed natural to name it "Jason". It has a 292 Y-block V8, 4-speed on the floor, static drop with a c-notch in the rear, rusty/bondo/spray can painted body (doesn't look bad from 20 feet away), and chrome reverse wheels on wide white radials. It's steering is sloppy, it pulls all over the road, takes forever to brake, is loud as hell and shifts have been a little notchy, but it's fun. I have other projects/obligations going on right now, but someday would like to make it a little more user friendly.

Here's a few more pics of Jason.....

I agree, i think it would be a cool custom thing to do in North America.

The big modern tail lights and 87-96 style tailgate got me too, I found it on an Argentinian for sale site and they claimed it was a 1980, but I suspect it's either modified or newer.

    Cool truck!

I have to ask about the kitty though, my best friends Ex girlfriend used to use the same thing as her signature...

the kitty was actually added by the previous owner, sorta like keeping count on the roadkill you would hit with it sitting so low? i don't know, i kept it there 'cause it cracked me up :)

I laughed out loud when I read this. Oh man does this bring back great memories of my old '56 F100 with its 429, 4 speed, 9 inch rear and stock everything else! It was great from 0 to 100 mph but scary as hell from 100 mph to zero!
I think this sort of thing separates us from the streetrod types; we're not interested in driving an old car that is really a new car underneath but take the best of the old and new and just live with the rougher edges.
