    2013!!!

I think this is the 8th one?

    Annual Mid-West HAMB-B-Q Saturday April 20th.

    You know the drill.

    Pulled Pork Party!!!!

    Come one, come all.

Last year was a total blast. This year will be as well.

Meet at Friendship House in Wamego Kansas for breakfast at 8am.

Oz Museum in Wamego at 10am.

We will drive Military Trail road along the Kansas River to Manhattan.

Next is the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan Kansas.

Then we will motor to Abilene along McDowell Creek Road, hop on I-70 for a mile, then take Old Highway 40 to my house just south of Abilene Kansas.

We will have pulled pork, home-made coleslaw and mac-n-cheeze, bbq beans, and other yummy stuff.

I will see about getting the bluegrass band again.

Feel free to bring your tents, campers, Rvs or Gypsy Trailers (tm) and spend the night. (I think last year we had over 25 people sleep over.)

I usually cook up a nice farmhouse breakfast early Sunday morning.

Oh yeah- drive your traditional hotrod or custom if you can. Otherwise bring yourself in whatever conveyance is available. This event is for the camaraderie.

  6. Thanks for the heads up Jay. Since Bonneville has kept me away from the HAMB Drags the last few years I feel I should make my way South to see the rest of the Vagabonds. I am putting off a Feb trip so maybe I can make something happen?

Sounds good! Good choices in roads too, some of my favorites around Manhattan!

Plan on making it. Will you have copies of your book for sale? Hope to snag one.

  18. Carla is interested as well. What are local hotel accomodations? She doesn't tent camp anymore.

  19. Well shit. If Kerry, Trent, Chris and the other Chris, Tim, Dan, Travis, Kerry, Nate and Jeff are planning to go, who am I to say no? I'll have to drive my daily HHR panel tho..and my little teardrop trailer. Sounds like fun.
I wonder if Nick is going.

  20. Trent, you could always sleep in Jay's Airstream. Think you can get it finished by April Jay? ;-)

  21. I think the year living in campers up here wore Carla out on that idea unless it was fully functioning! Bringing a newborn home to below zero weather and camper living takes a lot of effort.

BTW, I will try and call, will there be any extra room in the wagon?

  23. The back of my wagon is a step down from a camper. By the stove in the shop is the high rent district.

I'd like to make it back this spring, but it looks more like May/June for me. The way things are going here, this is too close to closing on our house.
