I don’t know how I missed this thread, another member turned me on to it; awesome build. I’m doing the LS swap in my 54 along with MII and ford 9”. I’ll be watching more closely.

  9. Just picked up this thread. LS engine! Way to go!!
My son and I picked up one from salvage in Tulsa last year - fair price and a real powerhouse. Still on the motor stand but hope to find a project like yours.

You know the shaft does look awful long. I know mine was pretty close too. Still I don't think it was that long. Mine was from CE. How about yours?

Thanks i have an idea if you look at this pic the right side hole is elongated this is a hiedts crossmember i wonder if i elongate the drivers side hole i can move it away from the frame to gain clearance? what ya think.
Then again that could be a bad thing as i do not want the rack to move around if i ever hit a hole or something

Ricky, I think I saw your car on evilbay before you got it (not too many red/white with those tail lights). Good to see it went to a good home. Dan

    Ricky,
I have a power rack and it came with spacers that relieved that a bit, OBTW, I was digging around in the junk box and lo and behold, the inner fender piece I was missing.
    Cheers,
    Jon

small progress i bought some shorty ls headers since i was having a tuff time with some headers i was trying to modify.
These shorty's seem to clear everything except the pivot ball for the manual clutch.
No biggie since i was going to use a hydraulic clutch.
I am getting very close to firing this engine up, i need some radiator hoses, battery and fuel pump for this thing to run.

    Ricky,

If, your side stainless is in bad shape, I have a full set of side stainless trim for a '52. The only difference is the front fender spare is straight unlike the kick up of the '51. Willing to sell or possiblle trade. Your '51 is looking good..........:D

    CRUISER
