    I assume it's a flathead conversion.

Everyone is telling me to go to Detroit. I have a strong feeling the GNRS is better, but I haven't been to Detroit for a long time.

I think that the main difference would be that this one is in California, where quality and styling have always ruled and still do in my opinion!!

Great photography Tom. Do you have any more photos of the '39 Merc and does anybody know who the owner is and if they're on the HAMB?

I shot a lot. Unfortunately, most are grainy due to difficult lighting. I'll see if i can come up with a better one.

Tom there's no comparing. GNRS is 100x's better then Detroit. While I like going to Detroit, it's normally because it's more fun then inspiring. The cars that could be "HAMB worthy" for lack of a better term are very limited. It's like One building of the GNRS.

Thanks Jeffrey. I won't go then. There was a vote thread on here a while back and it was about ten to one in favor of the GNRS. Sure glad I went to Baltimore. Too bad we didn't meet.

Yeah I'm sure we'll meet up at one of these! You should go to Austin for the Roundup. That's a really great show as well and the atmosphere is second to none!

I have a little different view. I've only been to Detroit once, in 2001, and I thought it was huuuuge. I think I saw about as many truly outstanding cars as I do at a typical GNRS, and for the most part they are different ones -- I don't mean unusual models, necessarily; I just mean that the majority of the cars that most impressed me in Detroit never made it out here.

Wow!!, Fireman Mark's '32 3W definatley represented our club well in the Suede Palace. I have not seen the car with the new TJ hand rubbed laquer paint.

    Nice Photos Tom!!

WOW! Wouldnt know which car to comment on, theres just so much awesome!
So, the Atom Dodge, if its built by an Aussie, is he the same guy that built the Art Deco Buick?
If nobody said a thing about it i would have bet it was Zocchi's new one.
