Some guys just can't let it go....who's thread is this anyways?

I know it's in the past, and I ove that you're doing it up and doing it right, but the thing that gets me - I mean REALLY gets me - is how someone, maybe more than one shop - could do this (a) to a car and (b) to another person. We all know about "Buyers Beware", but there reallly should be more recourse against the people who passed this off as a finished vehicle, against whoever sold it to you and even the guys that didn't look under the car when you asked them/paid them to look it over.

Anyways, great thread, great job getting past the "crusty bunch" around here and hopefully you're driving it real soon!

Sorry, I didn't realize this was the Hokey Ass Marvel Board. I come to see hot rods and customs like the T you're building. Which, I might add, has a lack of super heroes appearing in it. You should add some.

If I could do it all over again, I would have researched a little more, but I don't think it would have mattered. I love this car. I plan to be buried in it...

Hugo, much much earlier in the thread you mentioned doing Packard rear quarters and taillights; I imagine you've dropped that idea, but what are you thinking of now for the rear end treatment?

Finally, Thor is a great choice for the name; but if it were me, after all those waves were removed from the body, I'd have gone with a play on words and called it ¿Qué Onda?

 

I too came back for a look and glad that progress is still being made. Great job.

 

Take your time, this hobby can't get expensive if you don't have any body/paint skillz which I don't.

 

Just found this thread after buying a more door '50 Merc. What a journey, and what a difference reworking the roof has made, great job. Look forward to the updates.

 

I have a 41 Graham, it is a two many doored car. I have seen a couple turned into 2drs and I think they are really good looking. I have a two doored 49 Merc. and think they are better looking than a 4dr. But if you like 4 doors, all power to you, it is yours. I read from page 1 to 27 today and must say you have stuck to this project like a person bit by the Custom Car Bug. Congratulations for carrying it through, it will be a car you will be proud of to drive. Looking forward to seeing at completion.

Yeah, it has been a year since he posted last. H Rod where are you, where is the car, did you finish it or run out of $ ?

 

He logged on February 20th, so he's still around.

 

Well I hope its still going forward, but I can imagine the $ spent already....

 

Just finished reading this whole thread, did this car ever see completion? I liked the new direction it was taking on.
