Good score. I have always had a soft spot for squarebirds. I feel they are overlooked and underrated. My dad had a '60 ragtop with a 430, would love to have one someday.

Congrats ! Good luck with it. My first car was a '58 Bird: White/B&W interior. (You can see it in my Albums Section.)

I put one or two in the squarebird thread. Not too many of us on here it seems.

  17. yeah not too many here there is the t-bird owners group social page

and if your looking for info go to squarebirds.org lots of info over there but they are mostly the restore it or dont talk to us types theres a few over there that are unique and oringinal

  18. I personally have always been aprtial to the '58 but when you get right down to it there is not a lot of difference shap wise.

A square bird is a square bird and looks like you got a good solid one. Nice looking car and a blank slate, now its time for you do go all Watson on us. :D

Sounds like something I did, had a tudor, sold it and bought a 60 Bird, did it as a mild custom. Have a set of Torque Thrusts that came off my sons Mustang and chrome reverse, I like the mags best.

    I've had all 3, '58,'59, '60.

My '58 was a 352, I did rings & valves, added a 600 Holley and that really gave 'Wing' to that 'Bird! Really ran for a 352. (I worked on lots of them, worked for Red Mayfield, he was a Ford specialist in those years)

My '59 was a nice white Calif car, some lady kept pestering me to sell it to her after I dropped it and put Buick Riv wire hub caps on it...I sold it and regretted it.

Bought a low mileage '60 in '67, wholesale from the dealership where I worked: $100, and it had a 390 in it! (still had the Cruiso, so it wasn't perfect)
Drove it back and forth to L.A. (from Santa Cruz) about a dozen times, it was lowered with Riv caps, a service station guy gave me $1500 for it. Nice solid car. Ming Green.
    Ugh!

I had a '58 back in '65 that was a south Florida rustbucket. It was a 352 and made trips back and forth to Alabama at near top speed which was common back in those days. Please,no preaching! That was one of the most comfortable feeling high speed cars I've ever owned. Wound up with a '63 Monaco edition That'll stay with me till I'm gone and one of the kids get it!
