Half of this two-story house became stuck on Doheny Drive south of Sunset Blvd. (in what is now West Hollywood). 'No Parking' signs were posted on trees the day before, but motorists ignored them.

Boarding buses for Santa Anita racetrack, 1942. The stables at Santa Anita were converted into temporary barracks to house the Japanese before being sent to Manzanar and the other relocation camps.

That looks like a '42 Buick. Pretty rare.

This was taken in the summer of 1949. Anyone have an idea what this is? Some type of Whizzer? Sorry the quality is not better.

March 5, 1969: This runaway car wheel lodged into the windshield of a gasoline truck on the 710 Freeway and stuck there. . The driver was not hurt.

Amen! We have a bunch of slides from when our family went out west in 1967 to 1969 while my Dad was getting his college degrees at CSU. As a family of car enthusiasts, the last time me looked at them, the ones with our family pictures were priceless, including the ones that showed our 1962 Chrysler Newport wagon and our 1962 Pontiac Catalina wagon we used for the trips. All of the beautiful scenery, sunset, and sunrise photos were "humdrum" in comparison! One of my favorite childhood memories is of getting my ass busted for hitting our 62 Chrysler wagon with a snowball in July. This was at the top of Pike's Peak! LOL :D
