Organizing more of my toy shelves again this week and got out some of my 37 Chevy plastic and diecast models I have built over the last 40 years.
1937 Chevy was always one of my favorites. I prefer diecast when I can find them and built concept models for many of the real cars and trucks I have built.

    This group includes my:
    37 coupe from 1970's
    37 panel truck from 1980's
37 sedan delivery from late 80's to early 90's
37 chopped sedan from 1990's which I still own and drive
37 custom kingcab pickup from 1990's and sold last year

  15. Yes it is. It's being built by Ron Hamilton. He said he just cut the Revell kit roof and scratch built the rear pillars.

'60s Corvair match racer "Unsafe @ Any Speed". It has four wheel drive provided by two Toronado based 500 cu in blown engines and trans-axles. Driven by Ralf "Crash" Dummy and guided by a Plastic Jesus and a sweet Madonna.

The rears are from the AMT Piranha dragster...

Not sure on the fronts, as they're just something I dug out of my parts box...Might be from an old JoHan funny car kit.

These wheels came from a Jo Han Mustang funny car. Built years ago when mint green and pro street was cool:) on a side note the truck was built by Nitro Marty when he was a kid.

Way cool!!!! :D Can't believe you still have that truck... Yeah, I built it back when I was in my teens... A long, loooooong time ago!!!

Seriously diggin' your Pro Streeter too... That old open door Revell kit was a bit of a bitch to build, as I recall! ;)

Yes, you gave it to me before I was a teenager. I've enjoyed it for a number of years, it's my "survivor gasser"

  29. That's what I did. I used the back half of the revel kit and, from the doors forward, the AMT kit. I also stretched the AMT chassis. Crappy pictures, sorry.
I was pretty busy having kids and working as assistant director on the show at the time and this was one of my first builds in a long time. A friend and I challenged each other to the build and bought the Revel kits at a big model contest in LA. It was the first significant kit bash, scratch build I'd ever done and I was hooked. I used photo reference from old magazine articles on the real car.

Wow! Outstanding work on that Ranchero, Jigger! The shots showing the model before painting clearly show the work you did kitbashing the AMT '57 Fairlane and the old Revell custom '57 Ranchero kit (which was re-tooled from an even older Country Squire kit.)

The Ranchero Ron Hamilton is working on that appeared in Lyle's photos is based on Revell new kit of the '57 Ford Custom Tudor sedan. I picked one up this weekend and it's a pretty nice kit.
