...according to Barrett/Jackson...this 1932 Ford Model A Pickup sold for $45,000...sure looks like a '33 to me.

A 1932 Model A built in 1933 would be very rare.

The rarest of the rare with Corvette tail lights.

  7. HRP...thats one of the reasons I watch. A couple of years ago..a beautiful original 63 Split Window Corvette went for good $$. One of the announcers said....Are you ready? If that Vette had an original Big Block instead of the 327, it would have brought much more $$$. I laughed my ass off.

  12. I suspect other automotive enthusiast that know their particular mark do the same thing Hambers do,,we generally know a lot about the cars that we a passionate about.

I don't claim to be a expert about all cars but some things they screw up are so obvious! HRP

That doesn't appear to be a '32 truck, but I did have an original title for a 1932 model A . In some states, vehicles weren't titled until the dealer sold them, so there were some 1931 cars titled as '32's. Just sayin'...

I sit with my oldest son and critique the announcers all the time. My interests and knowledge stretch quite some distance (Duesenbergs to Fiat Jollys) with early Shelby stuff, Fords and Chevs and C1-C2 'vettes being pre-eminent. I can say that some of the auction companies are better than others, but they all screw up - usually when trying to ad-lib off the sheet of paper provided by the seller. Some of their nuggets are absolutely egregious, such as calling the Buick side trim on a Merc custom "original". We DVR the auctions so we don't have to sit through the blather or watch Dana Mecum get right in somebody's face. "your breath ain't gittin' it, McKay"

I'm sick of hearing " that was well bought. " And I haven't even started watching it yet.

They had a nice Galaxie on the ramp the other day and the guy said "of course this isn't an original Thunderbolt, but it is a tribute to one". At least they had the brand right.

but isn't that why you all watch? You enjoy the gaffs and mistakes and having the correct information in you noggin makes you feel superior.

Not that it isn't a cool truck, but whats the point of a quick change in something like that?

Some AA's were built into Feb/Mar of 1932. I've seen original factory photos at the Benson Ford archives that show some of the vehicles.

Larry what you talking about? Tonight is great weather for garage work. I'm headed out now to work on the model A. No heater either!
