to hide or cover your wiring when going from the front to the back of the car. I have 10 wires that need to go to the rear of the car and no where to hide them except under the carpet. What have you used?
Inside the car? If they're for tailights, you can run them in the fraimrail or through some ruby fuel line. I've used copper tube, but it's worrisome if you get a short. Inside, I vote under the carpet.
Go wireless. Requires a sender in the engine bay and a receiver in the trunk or under the bed of a pickup. I think Speedway sells a kit, they're hard to find and not cheap but they work great. If you can't find one just keep looking.
Yes, they will go under the carpet. I would like to protect the wires from rubbing on the steel floor/carpet and getting chaffed. Round convoluted wire loom will leave a bulge in the carpet.
You don't say what type of car, but I would run them down through the kick panels into the rockers and use heavy grommets where the wires pass through the steel
I lay them out flat, side by side and wrap them with electrical tape so that they lie as flat as a leather belt and put it under the carpet/padding.That way they don't bunch up.
50's cars ran them up the A pillar, over the door and down the C pillar. Guess you would be S.O.L if it's a roadster.
Framerail wont work, neither will the pillar and roof. It is a roadster. It has to go under the carpet flat, I would like a little more protection for it than just the insulation.
flthead: Mid sixties chevys (and probably lots of other cars) had a flat plastic conduit they ran the wiring through, under the carpet, to the rear of the car. Take a walk through the junk yard and pick what you like. Tim
What make, model ? Most cars have a recess along the inside of the rocker panal where you can run the wires. Ground, tail, (2) brake-turn, third brake, fuel gauge, fuel pump. I use this woven tubing that will stretch and can be flattened while protecting the wires. I put shrink tubing on the ends to hold it in place.
Do like the germans did. Mount a post out of your cowl, and run the wires down to the trunk area like this.
1963 Pontiac Gran Prix had a flat plastic ribbon with flat copper wires. It had about 6 or 8 conductors with plugs on each end that went back to regular round wire. It went from under the dash under the carpet to the trunk. I bet most 60's Pontiac's had this.
I've had one of those flat wire things from a 60's/70's GM car under the carpet in my '40 Chevy for close to 30 years. It's bulletproof. It carries wires for tail light, turns, back up, tank sender and maybe a couple I didn't use. Charlie

That's NOT an antenna. That plane has no carpeting to run wires under, so the only way to get wires to the rear is this method. Or the remote sender/receiver which required a battery in the rear. Not desirable in aircraft for tail weight. Anyhow, the HAMB has some smart peeps. Someone has to be able to solve the OP's problem if he does not like the German Solution.
What is your floor made of..............sandpaper? Just run the automotive wires under the carpet and make sure the fuses are good.
