    Whats the story on this one anyway? Ive seen it a few times, and it has clear Cushenberry influences, but other than that???

    Does this count? LOL I think it was a C-10 or something. Some questionable details but pretty rad-

    That would be Harold Murphy's truck that was built in West Palm Beach Florida. He also owned and restored Cushenberry's El Matador after it was burned in a fire. He recently sold the El Matador though.

    Very nice truck's fellow's !!!!

  21. I know what custom is. I am building my own custom truck right now. What don't I understand? My tastes are just very different than some of those kustoms. Don't be sad. I mean no disrespect. And I'm sure most people won't like my custom build.

    Maybe it is the custom verses kustom I am missing. Custom to me is a truck that went under the knife for some design changes and reshaping for a new improved look. Kustom is something build so radical just for the shock value.

    Well, that is the way I think.

    Hey dude. It's all good. Do what you're gonna do. I'm sure your truck will be clean and well proportioned. And that's nice.

    The show cars from the late 50s and early 60s are my favorite by far. They're wild and over-the-top and closer to my heart than anything else. You almost have to grow to love them because of the crazy proportions. Lately I've heard a lot more comments like yours. Just blanket "that's ugly" statements...I dunno. I guess I don't care. I read my car crafts and r&c's from the 50s and 60s and geek out. I guess I wish more folks still thought the way they did then. Radical for shock value sounds more like a rat rod to me. But anyway, on with the show. No offense intended. Post pics of your truck. Peace.

    Oh and here's Jimmy the metal mans weesner inspired f1. Killer pickup.

    Okay that's it, this thread has finally given me the push I needed. Over the last couple of days I have managed to source a set of almost NOS 58 Impala headlight assemblies and 57 Chevrolet truck grille to cut up and play with. Sometime in the not too distant future they will be going into this;

    In a similar though not identical fashion to this;

    I haven't been able to get this front-end treatment out of my head since Mo made me aware of it sometime back, and this thread has given me the kick up the ass I needed to stop procrastinating and make my mind up. I will post the build thread later in the year when we finally get into it.
    Besides, I have always liked my kustoms with a K, not a c.
    Thanks to George Barris and Johnny Zupan for the inspiration and hotrod surfer for this thread.
